Yep. My company decided this year to have a whole new shop grading system which means that all managers get red ringed for a year and then lose a few grand from their salary after the years up (I was lucky my shop does ok so I only lose 1600.00 One manager will lose 5k , they keep us open till 9.30pm when there is no racing so we sit there with no customers for four hours a day and this year they decided to open Christmas eve, even though there is no racing at all (there is an exciting virtual race card though apparently) they make us run promotions on the gaming machines on Saturdays (our busiest day of the week) and then kick our arses if we don't hit targets. They don't provide enough staff to cover the hours that we open so managers end up lone working for at least two hours a day. I am going on maternity leave in April and will be getting another job while I am off, not going back if I can avoid it.

iirc, if your pay is short, legaly you can demand it in petty cash from cash office/accounts dept. and they have to do it.

I worked in retail for Lidl and Iceland. Never never again, I now have a career and earn good money. If you want to be treated like a cunt work in retail.

A certain company stiffed me Ł400 when I left. Superglue is a fucker to get out of shutter locks.

thats much better.
the 2 minutes 40 minutes thing probably makes the difference to be fair although being asked to stay back and being told would get 2 different responces.

Still with the same company, but on a different customer account. Previous one in the UK was utter shite. People bored as we were remote support, only had to do anything if shit broke. No project work as the Team Leader decided to do it all himself (wanker). So fucking boring it was unreal, treated like a monkey. Upped sticks in June, moved to a new country, new account (same service provider), much better pay, weather and job interaction.

If you hate something enough, there is always a way out, why work for cunts, life is too short.

put a nicely worded letter as a greevance into the head of the H/R dept at head office.... put your point forward etc being concise and also to the point without waffle.

but yeah worked for a really shit company and fucked them off, they tried making me re apply for my job when i had been certified as being off sick by GP, so got a new job and quoted the HR bosses words to him in my exit interview after he tried to say i had let the company down after they had been "so good to me keeping me on" he tried saying that wasnt true so told him polietly and firmly i think you will find that you said that on such and such a day and it is verytry, so he had to try and make him self not look wrong by backing down and saying well it may be 90% try... my boss was backing me and was chucckling behind a bit of paper in the interview! was quality! the hr bloke expected me to be sheepish and meek... wrong person matey bloke!

chink is your company going under???? Seems a bit suspicious to get your pay that wrong these days with computerised pay systems and then not have the ability to sort it within a few days.

whack in a complaint/grievance. A big company like that has no excuse these days to get pay that wrong. Paid by BACS??? dont take them long to rearrange BACS payments.

your paid to work set hours - once youve done those hours your are NOT LEGALLY OBLIGED to stay any longer unless 1) you agree to it, 2) your are Paid an agreed overtime rate and 3) it does not conflict with the WOrking time regulations.

you should have said to your boss, fine, i'll stay behind if your gonna pay me overtime, if not, see you in the morning sir.

I walked out on a job once cos i couldnt be arsed with the shit. I was on the grogery department at Morrisons (my first ever job) and i was stacking mushrooms and the boss was pissing me off, so i said to him right i'm off on my break, see you in a bit. and then i fucked off home never to return, it was payday too lol - best decission i ever made.

I left a job because of this sort of thing.
I used to leave East anglia at 5pm on a sunday, get ferry from dover-calais, drive around france/germany/belgium/holland then back to east anglia, did 1850 miles between 5pm sunday and 10am tuesday morning, had wednesday off then again same thing on thursday to sat morning 10 am after another 1850 miles.
This all in a diesel turbo transit, 6 weeks in a row, as he had not employed another driver, man I was shagged out, started halucinating, and the dick of a boss said you are only doing around 5 hours a day, so youre getting well paid, wtf, he did the next trip on his own and crashed the van after falling asleep, serves him right!!

big companies are worse in my experience, small family business types tend to look after employees more as theyre on a more personal friendly level.
