Parking Ticket query...

Parking Ticket query...
On sunday i dropped my son off at my ex mrs house. Her road has double yellow lines outside her house, all other spaces were full and occupied. My lil boy wasnt very well and was asleep on the backseat of my car, if we were to park in a space it would of been at least a ten minute walk to her house. With my son being very unwell, a virus, i decided to risk parking right outside on double yellows. I nipped in for 5 mins, paid her some cash and put my son to bed, returned to find a Special PC had slapped a ticket on my screen. Now i dont park there all the time and it was strictly a one off. Says on my ticket "CAUSING AN OBSTRUCTION" even though cars didnt have a problem. Even other cars on double yellows didnt have a ticket (to my annoyance). Anyway.. the question:
" The Special wrote a spelling mistake on the ticket regarding roadname. Supposed to be Brereton Ave and the special wrote: Breaton Ave. Is this ticket a valid fine or can I avoid paying it because of the spelling mistake? "

If there is a "Breaton Ave" within a very close proximity to Brereton Ave then you MAY have a case......................
But i would hazard a guess that there isnt

Why don't you throw the ticket in the bin and when a letter comes through the post saying you have a unpaid parking ticket for breaton ave , Then you can say where the fuck is that ?
Unless they have taken pictures of your car.

Doubt there's a picture... Cant even spell right never mind think ahead!
What do i do now then? I know someone said throw it away, but whats the official procedure? Do I ring the ticket office up and say "hahaha I have been given a parking ticket with a spelling mistake and its void.. ner ner ner ner ner!" Or do i just bin it?

Dont bin the ticket as thats your proof of the spelling mistake.
Wait for a letter to arrive saying you have failed to pay the fine, write back stating that the name of the street on the ticket(which you'll have the proof of) doesnt exist locally and therefore you couldnt possibly have caused a parking obstruction in said location.
The error will have been corrected in the letter they send you but that is totally irrelivant.
You will recieve a reply saying 'in this instance they'll not persue' and job done!

20K+ Super Poster.
ANY officially given ticket form etc from plod/traffic wardens has to be 100% correct, as it has to comply with evidence act.
ANY errors renders it invalid, basic law of the land.
I have just been given a NIP by Norfolk Constabulary, saying that a Offence was commited but does not say what, a vague description of where, naming a road with the wrong number.
Few points here the NIP was not as a result of a Police officers report/statement, (camera vans are staffed by civilians), road number wrong, no evidence given of "offence".
I have asked for photgrapic evidence bearing in mind it can only have come from the camera van , staffed by a civilian,(parked dangerously), they pointed out section 178, the "duty" to say who was driving the car at the time, I pointed out I did consider this malicious as no offence has been suggested or proved and have heard nothing.
If I need to though will say it was roosie driving!!

I got away with one once. I was parked outside my house on double yellows.
NOW - I deserved the ticket as I had a driveway but couldn't be bothered to use it lol!!
Come and find the ticket, driving back to work I see the warden. I park down a side road and jog over to her. I ask if she issues it, and explain that the car had no engine and was being towed away.
I said I had pushed it onto the road for the tow truck, but it was late and so had gone back in the house, I couldn't put it back on the drive as it was uphill and I was on my own.
She gave me her warden number and an address and told me to write in and she would make a note on her paper work.
ticket waved!!! Luckily she didn't see me run back to my car and drive off!!!!

14000+ post superhero
it doesnt, i got a speeding ticket written out by a traffic officer saying i had been doing 47 in a 50. obviously that isnt illegal but he should have written 47 in a 30. i tried to fight it but lost as the offence code was correct and it was an obvious human error.i even took second and third opinion advice from a couple of legal experts.
