Actually they do a chevy LS1/2/6 conversion kit for the old 944. I reckon it would be a bit of a weapon.

My mate has a 3litre 944s that i have driven. I like the way it looks (10 x 18 cup rims on the back, 9 x 7 up front) and it handles quite well but the 220 bhp wasn't fast enough.

But by the time Nissan Officially launches the GT-R here you will be able to pick up a 3 year old 997 turbo for less.

The GT-R that went round the ring like 20 secs quicker than the porky T was a fettled example.

A stock one is no quicker.

Jeez...as cheap as that already!!!??? Thats a lot of car though if you think about it. 997 is defo the best modern shape + VVT Turbo's and serious kill ass performance....you cant go wrong.

Cayman's are just SICK end of! Dont ever do it. I'd probably buy a Boxter S over a Cayman if the budget couldnt stretch to GT2/3's.

All the talk about gt2's killing you and stuff i think is unfair, sure if you get in one with standard geometry settings on track and drive like a knob it will punish you. But get the suspension settings right and treat it with respect and its a very rewarding car i find.I would not change mine for a gt3 although they are an equally awesome car. The gt2 is not an every day car though,if thats what your after i think a 997turbo is best, come down a lot in price lately,a lot of car for money, cheers
