I'd think you'll be around £1200 FC at the very best mate, providing you have 2 years NCB (age 19).

** Edit ** - I'm guessing policies are loaded in London as its a big city, therefore higher crime rate... I'm basing my £1200 on experience, but with a postcode where crime hasn't been invented yet.

Cheers,
Grant

IIRC they wanted nearly a grand for TPFT on a fiesta 1.1 when i was 18 which was 10 years ago, so i imagine these days your going to get buggered on a fiesta turbo

For my 1.1 Fiesta three years ago it was costing £1.5K TPFT, with 0 NCB and stored at a safe address (that was when I was 18). I'd imagine with 1-2 years NCB and safe storage, an FRST would be around 1K for TPFT at the same sort of age.

Cheers

When i was 19 (3 years ago nearly) on an escort RST, i was £1090 TPFT. No no-claims at that time either. Just 2 years driving as a named driver.

mate at the age of 20 with no years ncb i insured a civic vti for 1750 tpft and then when i got 1 and a half years no claims,,, the same company; quinn insured me on my erst for 546 quid tpft valued at 3 grand... bonus... I know its hard but just get some ncb it counts for so much... go with quinn and they will see you right. they let you change your cars for a day or a month or whatever, very helpful and dont try and scam you.... I phoned flux up to see if they could beat my annual erst quote and they told me it would be double.... ha!
Its hard but fuck paying 200 quid a month... get a year and a half driving a shitter around and then pay 56 quid a month!!!!! billy bonus! Let us know how you get on!

oh and if it helps i always add my girl on my insurance... mainly because im an accident prone idiot and i always have to ask her to drive my car from hospital, when my appendix explodes, i power plane my thigh, I saw through my wrist etc... it lowers my premium no end... she has a lot more years experience than me though... maybe add your mum as a named driver. It helped me when i am layed up and need someone to drive my car home but if anything it may help lower your insurance costs!

i reckon you will be looking at about 1500 quid as a ball park figure.. obviously tweak the system a little... low annual mileage, no mods... as long as it aint blatant!

....prob best to give the insurance a miss or insure it as a standard 950cc Popular Plus in that case.

Since wangling the system might provide lower premiums, but should you be forced to claim and they discover the car has done more miles or is modified in any way from OE spec then they'll cancel your policy and you wont get paid out. If they do this and the police have been involved, then you'll be done for no insurance which I think carries a min 6-point penalty and a conviction code that pumps up premiums for the next 5 years.

Insurance companies are a$$holes mate, very quick to take your money, but usually pretty slow at paying out on claims... and they normally use ANYTHING to void a policy and avoid paying out thousands.

Cheers,
Grant

i knew id regret saying the above post and truly i do.. i just know how this guy feels, i really do... as Grant said the best bet is to be honest and i really wish i would have said that in the first place... im at a position now where i just tell my insurance i have got a stage 3 turbo and they go ok that is all noted, thanks..... Sorry i dont advocate any false allegations in your premiums!
Thanks grant for steering this thread back on track mate!

Just re-read my post and I didn't mean to come across like a boring ass... but one of my friends' lass is going through this at the moment and are looking at losing the payout over a backbox she hadn't declared... even though all her other mods are listed, for the sake of a 70quid backbox that had just been fitted, they could be losing 5k+ on the car (total loss).

Cheers,
Grant

no mate you dont sound like a boring ass at all. Unfortunately it is the way insurance companies operate nowadays... its a shame but true! Im glad we tackled it tactfully rather than arguing... sometimes i wish i never advise things and the above post about omitting information was BAD ADVICE! I as im sure you do; no how a young lad feels wanting to drive a nice car.... it is just a fact of life though that you need to build a years ncb up at least before insurance companies will take you seriously! Cheers Grant!

You might well find that you can insure a standard one for less than £2k. I got quoted £1600 FC on a virtually standard one when i was 19 (3 years ago so might be more/less now) Although a lot will depend on use and location etc

Yea i have had this off my dad lol, all his cossies the mods was all down. Like he says "if you was to have bad crash or kill someone your going to be locked up for a long time".
I was thinking if i could find an insurance company, that would let me limit my milege as i only do 50 miles work and back all week and prob another 50 going out seeing mates and stuff. which is not a lot aye.

I used to be insured with Quinn Direct, would rather rub peppers in my eyes than ever re-insure a car with them bunch of wankers.
