awesome kit car from the usa!
was randomly searching google looking at various corvette related things and stumbled across the factory five GTM.

the kit costs $20'000 and requires a C5 (97-04) corvette as a donor, plus a porsche G50 911 gearbox. obviously a massive choice of engine specs to go for from the basic 340bhp-400bhp in standard c5 corvette format, upto 600+ from the supercharged C6 ZR1, and 1000+ from turbo charged engines. on the site they say their 500bhp LS7 (7 litre version of the 5.7 small block) does 0-60 in 3.0, 0-100 in 6.6, 1/4 mile in 11.0 @ 132mph! they also recon it handles and stops well to!
"With stock Corvette brakes, the GTM slows to a stop from 70 mph in only 166 feet, outbraking the mighty $157,000 Ford GT"
"1.05 lateral G on street DOT tires. To put that in context, the Ferrari Enzo is the only car that matches it! " pretty impressive!
looks awesome imo, goes like fuck, looks like a piece of piss to assemble and parts availability are never going to be an issue! could have everything you need to build one in a container for well under $40k, just a shame the exchange rate is so shit at the mo!

Looks like a nice kit. Good price as well.
But i can't see the finish been all that good at that price, look at the lights for example.

with kit cars the finish is largely down to the builder though, but i see what you mean. to be fair though, whose going to eb slagging off the lights when youve just rinsed that lot ^^

a complete but crashed C5 corvette fetches between £7k and £9k on american ebay, get a manual one and youve got a T56 box to flog on straight away, plus the rest of the running gear and interior. obviously theres much less of a market for it here than over there, but still.
and you only need the gearbox from the porche, not the entire car....
