Do you class yourself as an aggressive driver?

I've had a few people tell me I am but I like to think of myself as enthusiastic.

I think most people get pissed at slow and hesitant drivers, as well as those who fail to indicate and have poor lane discipline, but do you get wound up and vocal?

I shout and swear and even gesture at times but to date I've only had one 'incident', however when he got out of his car he was a damn sight bigger than me so I managed to lose him.

 

im fine in my car, all relaxed etc. once i get in the transit im stubbon if im in the right, get wound up by people hesitating and crawling lol

 

i used to be when i was a van driver, i was allways in arush but ive calmed down since ive started driving hgv1

 

im in no rush, just get irritated in traffic, ignorant people, etc lol

 

I get the right arse with people sitting in the middle lane of the motorway go past with the horn on sorts it most of the time

 

When I'm in a works van (Royal Mail) I drive like a saint, well almost, but I've been in a hire van for the last fortnight and drive like I do in my car.

I get miffed at people who drive like a tool and make everyone around them react to avoid a collision while they think they are a stunner of a driver.

Pretty hard not to get wound up, but sod all the getting out the car and scrapping, to many nutters out their that would be happy to put a knife in your belly.

Even if im in no hurry at all i get properly wound up by slow/doddery/hesitant people, cars in the wrong lanes at roundabouts, lack of indicators, people not using the boxes in the middle of the road properly or at all when turning right, people sat i the middle and outside lane on motorway/dualcarriageway, slow boy racer cars that are loud as fuck etc

 

I am a relaxed driver who has all the time in the world for other people to drive slowly on my road.

99% of the time I'm relaxed, in no rush, take things easy, have a smooth and pleasant drive. I might get the needle once in a while though although uncharacteristically of me.

 

Broke my hand punching the steering wheel because some arsehat once.

And don't get me started on people that sit the middle lane.
And then you have,
White Knights = people that think its their job to police the roads.
Mono speeds = people that do 40 in a 60, and 40 in 30.
Ghost cars = Cars that seem to have no driver or idea of where they are going
Cocks = Used to drive BMW's now drive Audi's, they sit doing 60 in the middle lane and as soon as they see a wankey old Escort van going past they floor so your then stuck in the outside lane. Then they slow down again, and repeat.
And finally, people that don't know that you give way to traffic coming from the right at roundabouts.

 

Im enthusiastic but many would say aggressive. I just love flooring it and harsh braking oh and i also love giving it abuse on corners, roundabouts etc.

 

wouldn't say that i'm aggressive, but a efficient driver.

i use every opportunity i get to go faster from A to B in the traffic. i'm not talking about breaking speed-limits or anything, just to take an opportunity in a roundabout, trafficlight or any other case where i meet other drivers that hesitate and wonders about what they are goiing to do.

but, i HATE people that don't use blinkers! now THATS annoing!

 

I find that most people wear blinkers when driving

 

Not aggressive as such, enthusiastic but not all the time, I've always been taught "time and place"

I am stubborn though, I wont give way when I have the right of way and someone is trying to bully me, I walk out onto pelican crossings without hesitating, oh and I BRAKE FOR TAILGATERS

 

People that just randomly haul on the brakes and stop the flow of traffic to let other people out for no good reason.... They deserve to get rear ended

 

Just remember to look and decide whether they have seen you or not, no point in your last dying words being "But I had right of way, did you not see me.....ugh."

I'm exactly the same.

But I also find myself deliberately blocking people when they've made a mistake. For example in a one-way system when the lanes change and you know that a car is going to want to come in, I'm there in the way. I don't do it with vans and trucks though, or totty for that matter.

 

if im in traffic and got right of way (right hand lane and ahead of car on passenger side) it drives me mad when the car to my left thinks he has to go infront of me when im already infront of him as the lanes emerge , i will not give in whether it be i hit thier car or they go into the kerb, it only a van and i'd have had right of way lol. (sorry)

 

...and on the other hand people who stubbornly refuse to allow merging when that's what the circumstances are dictating what should be happening

 

I like forcing posh cunts in thier BMW's and Mercs back into junctions!!!! Give way lines are there for a reason. I dont mind letting people out in traffic, but its always those posh cunts creeping out of junctions when its dead that annoy me. Theyve only got to wait 5 secs till i pass then they can pull out, but no they just cant wait can they!!! So i swerve over to the left edge of the road so they have to reverse back over the giveway lines


Another one that annoys me is people who DELIBERATELEY drive the wrong way down a one way street as a shortcut. Theres a street near me where people come off thier drives and think they can drive wrong way down street to save them time. I then just block the road and make the cunts reverse hahahahahahaha

More or less same as above for me. I get REALLY pissed off at the people that overtake an hgv at 60, then pull into the middle lane 10 seconds fter they have passed it, then speed up to 75 so you struggle to get past them! WHAT IS THE POINT!!!!!!!

And HGV drivers really annoy me too. Mainly due to their 'fook everyone else' attitude that the majority seem to have.

no point in getting stressed on the roads as it changes nothing imho, except gives you the hump

What makes a good driver imho is the person who can deal with all the situations a poor driver presents while not reacting negatively or in a manner which makes you a hazard to other road users.

 

Turbocabbie, that's what I want to be like most (not all) of the time, not just some of the time I am now. I really genuinely can be a perfect, thoughtful and professional driver at times, but I just don't have any patience, and I mean none whatsoever. If someone pisses me off it sets the ball rolling and I find fault with everyone then.

I'm seriously thinking about doing the advanced driving test through the IAM in the new year, it might just help me a little.

Seriously tho i have to agree it is very frustrating. People doing 40-45 in a 60 for 10 miles, does my head in and also poor discipline with indicators, roundabouts and lanes.

I dont get wound up tho, cos u jst end up looking the twat even tho its the other driver.

These days i drive with the opinion that everyong out there is out to cut u up and piss you off, it seems to help. i suppose becasue im more expecting it of people.

Also i always try to at least give way 50% of the time, if its not holding my up and making me use too much extra fuel stopping and starting. i see it as kinda like karma.


To be honest the only way this country is going to have a better driving standard is to maybe introduce retests like some other countries do.

I seriously think if everyone had to do a test say every 5 years, it would greatly reduce the twats and the incompetent drivers out there.

And why the fuck do they make u practive reverse parking and reversing around a corner so much, IMHO that is stuff that you should be able to do with out thinking as its part of driving a car. WHat they really need to include is

HOW to use lanes on a motorway
HOW to use roundabouts
HOW to be courtious : give way as well as say thank you
HOW to "drive ahead" to avoid phantom traffic jams

this is the sort of stuff that should be made the no1 importance on driving tests, instead all they do is mention the above in passing conversation.

im not an aggressive driver but im aggressive when it comes to other road users who cut me up/pull out on me, however anyone who decides to be aggressive towards with guestures or a comment will have to be prepared to back it up because the second they do i cut them up and rip there heads off/smash there cars up/fight anyone who tries to stop me and i will do what ever it takes to satisfy my need for justice

i mean who the f*ck do these usally office types-old ba*tard think they are to give me the finger or beep there horn and flash me up when there in the wrong

ive pulled loads of people over including a bus driver with a bus full, a car of young blokes even an oap who i told was too old to be swearing at a young man like me lol

one time i felt some guilt as i was driving though a posh part of london not knowing where i was going i was on a dual carrige way and was in the left land and needed to be in the right was doing 40 the limit and put the blinker on and pulled out when some well dress COCKerny came speeding up in his rangerover and beeped and gave me a sort of wave so i steamed the brakes on jumped out was about to pull him from him car and there was 2 kids in the back so then i told him that they probably just saved his life with the mood i was in and to slow the f*ck down and think b4 hes calls someone a wa*ker again

vandals annoy me more though but that another topic all together that involves a full blow 2 man army pub riot people getting glassed/run over/shoveled and that was just one night over eggs and flour lol

 

i used to be one of them "fast" drivers" but now i have several speeds:

family driver - for when i have family in the car, so nice and steady
van driver - get the fuck out of my way or i'll break your wing mirrors
in a hurry driver - red lights? what red lights? officer, my son needs to get to the hosiptal,, now kindly fuck off out of my face or i'll have to run you over
normal driver - polite
lazy driver - yeah, sure, i'll stop here and let everyone out, i don't care who's beeping
etc

 

That makes you just as bad as the people who wind you up and puts you in the wrong

People who pull out infront of me on roundabouts, I speed up abit so I nearlly hit them and beep the horn .

People who have there foglights on when its not foggy. Main beem on in there face.

Tailgaters, I slow right down, stick my foglight on and constantly brake.
