Default cossie abs warning lights

hi,have posted this in technical help bit to,im now loosing the will to live!!both abs light and brake warning lights sometimes come on when press brakes if keep braking it does go out,if stationary i can push brakes hold them down and eventually they light up,when stopped i can push pedal down to a kind of stop, never goes that far when braking while driving, been trying to get this sorted out for a while/months! but no luck, starting to see the appeal for jap crap!

have bled them about 4 or 5 times(as per workshop manual) still no better, tried less fluid/more fluid, checked cap and sensor in it seems to work like a switch, light might only come on a couple of times a journey, they were on a few times tonight, starting to think about ditching abs system, but probably more work than the cure!

right, tested all abs sensors readings from 1014 to 1024 so assuming there ok,but trying to get other ones and replace them any way, tried wiggle wires ect nothing happens, press brake pedal and hold down and eventually both lights come on,when driving they may only come on a few times, possible still air in system?dont know what else to try!thanks col93saphcos

When I had a similar problem, it was the sphere on top of the pump which was knackered and not holding any pressure.
If you brake gently does the light come on? mine used to come on if you hit the pedal with any force atall.
Hope that helps!

did this stationary with ignition on,takes longer to come on if you brake gentle, came on quite quick when jab them hard, when they came on i heard the pump pressure its self again happens every time lights come on,would that be the sphere thing?are they replacable?where from?easier with a new pump?maybe getting somewhere now!thanks col93saphcos

I couldn't find any new ones available so I took a bit of a gamble and bought a secondhand one from someone off here who was breaking a sapphire of the same year.
If the pump is cutting in, I guess it makes sense that the pressure is not being held.

I paid £40 posted and got the pump thrown in.

A mate at a local garage put it on his scanner and it couldn't find the fault, I suppose cos it wasn't an electrical problem.

you brake lights working when the light comes on?might be a dodgy brake light switch!if the switch is part of the abs system on these of course
