Default Lights help

Right when i turn my light on they dont work but if i put them on side lights the work slightly but are very dim, the main beam works but as soon as i turn the light on only the side light work? any ideas?

Bad earth, clean them all up, run a temp earth straight to the bulbholder to verify.

escorts and fiestas are known for fox box problems using causing the lights to play up!although it tends to effect the heater fan more in the fiestas!more then likely a crap earth!i would check the fuse box for any melted signs around the relays/fuses!

yea the fuel pump ones melted but ive found a new fuse board on the internet are they easy to fit tho?

i have just had a fuel pump fitted so maybe the mechanic's moved on of the earths

not a mega easy job!but not a major job for a car electrican!might be worth getting it checked out first
