Is anyone else thinking woop-de-fucking-do? Surely they could all afford to donate at least a weeks! I doubt they will be hit hard by the credit crunch as much as some of us are.

big fookin difference IMO
my days wages goes towards my mortgage and other bills to allow me a "normal " lifestyle, these lucky people earn in most cases a week what I earn in 2 fookin years.. and I am paid well..
they can donate a lot more and not even notice it If I donated a weeks wages then I will have to go without day to day essentials just to get through the month..
the money in football has long since been out of control and soon it will burst...
don't get me wrong it is a nice gesture it just smacks of we can afford it cos were rich!

I guess this all boils down to my hatred for Footballers earning so much money!! I just have never and will never understand how somebody can earn so much for kicking a ball round a pitch!

The TOP players like Ronaldo/Torres/Rooney/Gerrard/Lampard earn their respective clubs MUCH more than they get in return for wages.

its all relative, they earn higher wages but have a more expensive lifestyle so a days wage to them will be just the same as a days wage to us.those 10 million pound mansions and 10 supercar garages dont pay for themselves you know.
i give fuck all.
i give fuck all.

i think donating a days wages when you're on huge earnings isnt a big deal, but when you're not on huge wages and getting hit with the recession it is. i know i for one couldn't afford it at the minute

so what about any sport that pays big money? how much does hamilton get to drive a car around a track? the top men earn the top wages same as all walks of life you get paid what your worth. if a player gets £100G a week then its obviously beneficial to the club/team to do so.

What a fucking stupid thing to say If he only earned 1 pence a day, do you think he could afford to give away any of it?
And how do you know what amount the DD is for? Could be £3 a month - could be £300 a month for all you know.
I only support two charities on a monthly basis aswell - NSPCC and RSPCA, I won't mention what amounts as it's fuck all to do with you, and I give to other charities as and when I can afford it....
At the end of the day tho - if a person only gave £1 a month in donation to a charity, thats £1 they are better off by is it not? If every single person in the UK gave as little as £1 a month to a charity, they would be extremely well funded.

Who cares if there only doing one days wages? If theres going to be a whole team donating a days wage each, thats going to be a hell of alot of money in total!!
Just because they got a bit more money than your average joe, means they gotta donate more?!

I dont believe some of you.
A days wages to them is more than likely towards 10k, more in some cases. Think how much money that really is? Its a fucking shitload.
Its all relative, the more you have the more you spend. £100,000 a week could be £80,000 a week bills in theory, just like £100 a week could be £80 bills to someone!
The fact is they are donating thousands of pounds to charity, what gives any of us the right to critisise that? I imagine it is alot more than most (if not all) of us give over the course of a year?
