How do they go about swindling you dojj? We know what a scam is....
If he was advertising it here for instance, like when I bought my saff, I went to see, drive, check the car before I parted with my money. Just like I would if i were to buy that car. No car/not as advertised=no money. simple

That's what I was wondering. Presumably they get you to exchange some cash before you see the car. But if you do that.. well then you've got it coming to you.

This is the reply from the seller, when I enquired about the bargain Fiesta !!!!!!

First i will like you to know that the car is in excellent shape, it's never had any accidents, no scratches, no dents, it's got the original paintwork, no pets, non-smokers, the engine has never been repaired. The car runs like new and never had problems with it. At this moment I am out of the country, i'm with my wife in our honeymoon in Barcelona (The car is here with me in Spain)
The car still got UK papers I didn't registered yet here in Spain so you can import it in your country with no problems.
If you don`t have the possibility to pick up it then I will be glad to arrange a shipping and I will support all shipping cost.
I can arrange the delivery where you want and you will have 5 days to inspect it before I will receive the payment and in this way both of us will have the assurance that we need.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions at all.

Morgan Robert Alan.

The story goes they sell it that cheap that you jump at the chance they e mail you saying that they are on buisness but the car is with a company & they are dealing with the money & release of the car. They ask you for a deposit through western union or such likes & say the car will be delivered to your adress.these ads are on ebay all the time a guy paid nearly 3k for a mk2 escort in this way & got bumped they just steal old adverts.Usually send you a formal e,mail but its obviously a fake

not trying to humiliate anyone, you will see that it's offered at a ridiculously low price, the email reply you will probably get is that it's somewhere in mainland europe and you'll send the money and he'll ship it back to you or words to that effect

i had the same thing when i looked at buying an st220 when they were worth around £9k a few years ago and this fella was flogging one for a buy it now of £4k

i was told the same thing so i strung him along for a while and then just stopped replying to his emails

The car and the plate are genuine. I know the 'real' owner is selling the car, so he may have put the plate on retention.

I followed one of these scams through far enough to get the tossers bank acc details and contacted the car dealer in London, who's website had been scammed.. I called the Met Police with all the details and they were not interested at all as no crime had been committed...I even had the address of the bank and all the gen...The guy had an African name... and he wanted 3 1/2k deposit upfront before I saw it and claimed it was a finance snatchback but as soon as I asked for Vin number Reg etc... he got all shitty.........As some of you know I live in Belgium... Have a look at some of these.... If anyone gets sucked in here...... http://eng.autoscout24.com/home/inde...uroto=9000&zip=
