Default turbo exhaust housings?

hi all, wondering if anyone can tell me,does the size of exhaust housing on turbo make a difference to what chip you require?as in t34 .63 housing/.55 housing/.48 housing, also how much boost would my turbo be able to hold, its just been overhauled by cr turbos,360 bearing, step ring/seal thing/.48housing oh its t34,kind of wonder now if i should of got housing changed to a bigger one,is mainly used on twisty country roads tho, thanks alot col93saphcos

yes you need different software, as the compressor maps are different.

i ran my t34.48 on stus 55lb siemens kit, it peaked at 36psi and held 28-29
made 370bhp and 420lb/ft, the ultimate road spec imo

well, stu may well do this setup on l6, im not sure.

it would be better on l8 with closed loop.

but other than that,

55lb injectors are around £300
and a msd chip...

you can do this on l6; no need to change the ecu unless you want closed loop etc

£325 for the chip - off the shelf no doubt
£200 for the injectors for the siemens (55's, 72's and 83lbs are all the same price)

gearbox (if in good order) will be fine at this level; i've seen 500hp & similar tq through a standard t5

on boost it is much much stronger, but god i miss the way it drove...it was the ultimate road spec...instant power no matter where you were or what gear you were in....bang 36psi

the T4 is really hard work.

weekly

the 55lb injectori s bigger than the light blue, bigger than a grey aswell, so you have more scope for tuning in the future. and wont be running them flat out which is much safer....

i doubt the light blue would flow enough for a 36psi spike...

i think 33psi is close to the limit on light blues!my injectors are at 90%duty cycle now,

to this thread i say get a .55 best of both worlds!

that sounds like it could get expensive, might just leave her on dark greens just now, fancy getting that wasted spark conversion so thought while doing that could get new chip and injectors but feeling upping the power might give me more problems, suppose its fast enough for me anyway!lol
