Women and cars - why they don't mix!!
My sister needed somewhere to park her car, so her friend suggested outside her grandmothers house would do nicely. After this was OK'ed by the oldie in question my sister went and parked it there. She then went to return to the car a good few weeks later to find it gone!
It transpired that her friends grandmother (obviously forgetting the deal) had been chasing up with the council to get the 'abandoned' car removed from outside her house!
So they came and stickered it up with the usual notifications, and my sisters friend went to visit her grandmother and she told her about this car and showed her the stickers, yet she didn't twig whose car it was either..
So the car gets towed away by the council and impounded Until my sister went to get her car the other day to find it gone.. and obviously a few light bulbs clicked on with her and her friend

Oh dear!!!!!
I beleive if the vehicle has current tax and insurance they are not allowed to remove it as at that point it is only parked and not abandoned.

It did have tax, but half way through it being parked the tax expired, and although she bought a new disc at the right time she never put it on display in the car
It was nice of them to bother to inform her they were going to tow it though

She may have to kick some butt with the council responsible. If it gets nasty she should go to the papers as they tend not to like being embarrased. It's like the council here didn't bother to send out the gritters and hey presto we got lots of snow!! They were ripped to shreds by the local papers.

The council see them as a menace and abandoned here.
