few more pics of max, the ones of his tail in a mess are cos he was a rescue dog when we got him and he had mange bless him so chewed most of it off!! big and fluffy again now thou
Mally's are hard work. i disagree that theyre lazy, theyre not theyre just ignorant. and they like huskys dig holes and jump fences ours has dug a hole big enough to bury himself in.
and i dont know anyone who owns a mally that can be left off the lead, being the closest breed to wolves they have a very high pack drive so will run off at the first sign of something they like!
The hardest thing with them is working out what they are trying to communicate, eg he'll growl/howl at u when he wants to eat, when he wants to play or when he's got the hump!! can be very daunting to start with as they can sound very agressive but u get used 2 it after a while and it can have u in stitches when he's having a paddy fit
But their loving dogs and very very protective of their packs ie the family they live with, the main thing with them is lots of walks, and the good thing is come rain or shine most of the time they want to be outside!! althou he loves staying out till he's soaking wet then comes back get the house wet too lol.

purely mal mate, guess alot of it is how they are bought up and as we got him at 3yrs he's already set in his ways, which are do what he wants lol, althou we have been letting him off in enclosed areas and hes not too bad, but has issues with other dogs so we have to be careful with him.
Sayin that we need to get the papers for him, was originally just a foster job for a few weeks which has turned into 9months odd were told he was shown at crufts as a pup thou so would tie in with being pure mally.

ah,that may well explain it then.if its had years of doing what it wants it will be like that.the aggresion is a prob with these tbh.but can be worked out, just mot easy
i may well end up with a maly soon there is a bloke and woman my friends know with one under a year old and they are mistreating it. leave it outside on its own all the time(a pck dog should never be like this)and as a result has escaped a few times.and they are hitting it and wondering why its turning on them!
only thing im bothered anout is how my male husky reacts to him as ive heard they may not got on and avalanche doesnt like big makle dogs
but i dont want the poor thing having a life of crap.

Toe knee - max is gorgeous!
Bullett - bless ya heart, must be horrible knowing someone is mistreating their dog! I guess all you can do is introduce your two to it and see how they get on?

maria, its wrong imo.why buy a dog just to ignore it.i always research everything im getting into and obviousdly these people havent. all dogs are pack animals but sled dogs like malys and huskies are still like wolves and rely on a pack, whether it be other dogs or humans.which is why we got two.
i cant stand people who hit dogs. ive never once hit mine and never will.or other peoples.i control them the way they do each other. ie,srcuff of the neck and put them on their back

well my mates have said that they were going to speak to them and see if they will give it away.could do without it really but i have an annoying habitat of wanting to look after animals and will no doubt end up with it.
plus its a sled dog so im more than happy
considering trace said no more as she thinks they are a handful,it was her who said tell them we will have it. but we will see.

Cheers maria he's alot fluffier now he's got his winter coat!!
might try and bring him to a pf meet one day
Bullet, i guess the main thing would be too see how they would get on, obviously would kick off with each other to dertemine who's top dog but once thats sorted they should get on ok.
Been to a few mally meets before with 10+ dogs, can be very interesting when they first meet and all have it out with each other
As u say not easy to iron out probs thou, taken along time to get him to where he is now. When we got him we gave him a bath and the water was literally black when we washed him!!! and u just had to touch his back and his legs would just give, and he was quiet as a mouse!! can get him to shut up now when he gets going
Funny thou cos u can see his brain workin all the time trying to push his luck, completly different to the staffy at my mums, shame they wouldnt get on as they both look at tach as a mother figure so would kill each other

toe knee.thats the thing with all dogs.they always test from time to time to see if the pack leader is weaking.avalanche tries it with me but as soon as he is put down he relaxes and realises im still boss.
had ours from 8 weeks though so have been able to bring them up the way i wanted.but its still hard with them.people dont realise how different they are to normal dogs.
nice to see you took yours on and have brought him round. he deserves itstunning dog

The Malamute and Husky photo's are ace didnt realise as many people actually owned them, thought they were quite rare, obviously not on here, lol. I had fancied one last year but after a bit of reading i decided to pass, thought it was going to be too much work for me and the wife to take on as a first dog.
That American Pitbull is an imposing sight, hugely muscular body!!

there a good natured dog realy and its a shame there now banned
there adgility is unbeaten by any dag and there strength is unbeleavable even a small pit could pull a car
the ears on the one in the pic are cut but its just a pick i found on the net but my fave is the road island red veriation with yellow eyes and white flash

this makes it look alot worse and has given it the reputation it now has the only other dogs with the same sort of stamina are sled dogs
the average leap of a pit is around 8ft into the air whitch is unreal to see
