Cancer Support Bracelet
Hi, I take an Academy Football team in Belfast and one of our players sister has been diagnosed with Cancer. We want to show our support by wearing the rubber braclets or a ribbon. Does anybody know where we can buy these from, so that the money goes to the proper sources and not some Ebay idiot.
thanks

I believe she has been diagnosed with throat cancer, so I am not sure which one we need. We will def need 20 of these bracelets, or if all our teams sign up, we would require around 130 of them. As this would be quite a large sum of money we would rather it went to the correct people and not some pond life posing as an approved agent.

Why not just make a donation to McMillan Nurses, Cancer Research or some other bona-fide charity?
Sorry, but the idea of wearing something "to show support" leaves me cold. I put it in the same category as these "celebrities" that like to talk about their "charity work" - charitable giving isn't about you.

My club is one of the biggest in our country and hopefully by people seeing us wearing these armbands at our games, it could raise awareness due to people asking, why are you wearing that?

Maybe we would be showing support to the lad in the team so that he knows that we are thinking about him and his family or as you advise I could just phone a telephone number and give somebody a couple of hundred quid and leave it at that as I have a bit of cash.

I'd tell my mate I'm thinking of him and do whatever may be required to help him.
As for raising awareness of cancer by wearing a band or anything else - sorry, I don't get it. People already know about cancer - most of us have lost someone to it in one form or another. If people won't donate when they lose a relative ort friend, they ain't going to do it because someone wears the latest charity fashion.
Like I said though, each to their own, and I wish you luck in your endeavour.

or tell me mother im a fag for supporting the charity when she got diagnosed with breast cancer eh ?
i wear the blue one because a family friends girl got so bullied at school for no apparent reason that she tried to commit suicide
fucking long distance keyboard warrior, tell you what i will even pay for your flight over here to tell it me to my face hows that sound ?
lets hope you never get cancer and rely on people like us donating money in ANY way possible to help the charity either make your last few months comfortable or try to stop the thing in its path.
have a word with yourself and go fuck your self eh ?
Matt
