They do similar, but police watch a car with say a satnav on display then pounce a soon as they go for break in.

Trouble is, the penalties are so pathetic that they don't care if they get caught.

A mate of mine is a cop in Blackburn. They had a MK2 Golf 'bait car'. It was all rigged up, with a boot full of recording equipment. They left the car for a few hours, and when they went back to it the car had been broken into and the thieves had stolen ALL the equipment, cameras, the lot!!
