Nice turtle He should have a small area for him to get out the tank, you can get flating bark etc with suckers that attach to the side of the tank. He'll soon be the size of a dinner plate too

Looks canny mate. ive had mine for about 6 months, got all the usual fish, platties, guppies, swordtails, glass cat fish, ghost knifetail, sharks, a big sail fin plec, etc etc. ive just got a royal plec this week, there quite rare and not cheap, but its a cool fish. ive got a smaller tank i use for my babys aswell, use it for live barers, ive got over 80 babys in there at the minute.

These buggers are funny to watch, but unbelievably greedy, they eat anything and everything

It's a Motoro Stingray, i gave 95 quid for it when it was a bit smaller than in the pics above, he's fully grown now at around 12" diameter plus another 4/5 inches of tail. It eats bloodworm, shrimp, prawns, muscle, pretty much anything in the tank that is small enough to fit in its mouth.

Im planning on trading it in and getting a load of small mollies, guppies, neons, tetra's etc, back to the simple life of dropping a bit of flake food in the top every now n again.

Another old photo, showing how he likes to hid every now n again after he's eaten

yeah theyre freshwater, as big a tank as you possible, my tank is 5' x 5' x 2' and i think its about the smallest i'd say you should have for something like that.

i can believe that, those redtail catfish grow pretty big!!

I've got a pair of Pangasius Sanitwongsei which are starting to get to a decent size now, nothing as big as that redtail but they will be one day, they look quite shark like with the pointy dorsal fin and wide head/mouth.

ive had a load of big uns, the red tail was over 27inches when he got rehomed, (eric)

i had a 25inch tiger shovelnose, (george)

a 16 inch giraffe catfish, (zippy)

a 18inch pacu, (ernie)

a 14inch giant gorami (victoria)

ive gone smaller now due to house size lol.

ive also had arrowana, lungfish, fookin alsorts really

but the red tail was the best fish ive ever kept, he was truley amazing, like a proper pet, he would greet you when you came home, watch tv with you sat next to you in the tank, hand feed, and loved being smoothed down like a real cat lol. i miss him every day tbh
