Good Luck Rod and Mark

hi
Great day, all went well & Mark played mega safe almost 10deg less ignition this time, we reached the limit of the ports/ex cam much as Mark
predicted & it was over 800bhp @ 6k & still over @ 8K . Peaked at 838.4 @ 7.5k it was out of puff.
The smaller turbo was still making power at 7.5k.
The big beastie was supplied with a full race exhaust housing that proved to be too tall & the turbo hit the head so game over.
600ft/lb from 4850 to 7350 should prove interesting.
Im calling it quits at this point, ive done my bit, but an easy 900bhp in there with larger ports & a different exhaust cam.
Will try the new turbo on the rolling road should spool quicker but it looks like the limit on 109 & conservative ignition.
Cheers Rod
ps. Chip has the graphs & i believe he will post them.

Christ on a bike that's incredible!! Congratulations to all involved.
What's the true limit then? if more could be had with more headwork and a bigger/different cam, is 1000 bhp achieveable?
Anyways, well done, and i hope you see the top speed you are after.

For those who have asked im in no rush to run the car at the mo, Its in for a cage next week , then engine in & then Deano is going to do the Brakes & sort out all the bits you cant see under the car. I suggest it may go on the RR for a nitrous run in say late Febuary & then have a crack at that Topspeed record. Both my son & I will have a go to beat the 206, ive got to beat the young wipper snapper & then the keys will be given to a pro driver whos interested in having a crack to see what the old girl will do & then hopefully I can step away from this mayhem, but it will be hard cos i still enjoy it.
During the Dyno session i had a look round at guys im happy to call mates as diverse as Cyril (500bhp escort) aged 64 & in really smart clothes & next to him JB looking like a gangsta rap star, im proud to be mates with both along with Rich & the others that came.
cheers Rod

i was lucky enough to watch all of this first hand yesterday. brilliant day and great results. Listening to mark, simon and chip 'talking technical' baffled the hell out of me but it was good to see first hand what all of this engine dyno stuff is about.
Rich: thanks for asking if i could come along
Rod: thanks for saying yes
Chip: nice to meet you mate
Mark: thanks for answering all of my questions whilst you were busy in the dyno room! lol roll on the 4g64 lump next year!!
Regards

I wasnt involved in any way at all other than watching mate, all the success with this engine is purely a result of Mark's hard work and knowledge and expereince, and of course allowed by Rod's continued commitment to sticking with Mark and giving him free reign with his engine.
