Default Problem starting my focus ST

Question for any technical lads on here. Yesterday morning i had a problem trying to start my ST.
Turned the key in the ignition and all i got was beeps and warning lights The engine wouldn't turn over at all
The warnings that came up on the dash were reduced acceleration and engine systems failure
Since i was already late for work i left the car in the driveway and took the misses car.
When i got back from work in the afternoon i tried to start the car again and all was ok. First click of the key and it started without any problem (no warnings at all)
First thing this morning i went out to see if it had the same problems as yesterday but it started on the first turn of the key again
I'm gonna book the car into the dealership in the morning for a check up to see if there is any problem
I'm just wondering has anyone ever came across this or even heard of it before?
Cheers for any help

Lovely that 568 views and nobody has any advice for the guy

My first port of call would be to check the battery mate and check for any loose connections.

the battery was fine cause the radio and lights worked.
But i disconnected it for a sec, put connectors back on and away she went. Does disconnecting the battery reset the ECU on the focus?

Just because the radio and lights work doesn't mean the battery is any good mate especially when it comes to the business of cranking if it doesn't hold good charge and have enough voltage the plates will simply collapse and nothing will happen. I don't know whether ST's have the same function but leaving the battery disconnected for around 30 minutes does reset the ECU keep alive memory for the older MK1 focus' not sure on the MK2s. Can give it a try however.

Removing Fuse 26 for around 20-30 mins will reset your ecu and clear any current faults
