Only way to get rid of it 100% is a format and re-install of xp. In future if something looks even 1% dodgy, don't download it or view it or anything.

So it Ares, as that is the only file sharing I have, so am i right someone else is just looking through my music, or should I be worried.

its the whole point of the program, its the concept of "sharing".
if you disable it, then you might as well uninstall the application. Every time you download using Ares you are looking at someone elses computer somewhere in the world, and they are seeing that message.

Nought to worry about, design of the program, difference is that one tells you....normally it is done quietly in the background.

In other words, I (yes thats me) didnt realise the chat box was from some pier 2 pier software.

My questions are still relevant anyhow, down to checking out if he can turn off the sharing option.

Just because you have a sharing programme does not mean you have to share the content of your pc.

Keith if your that worried uninstall the programme and install limewire, ill tell you exactly how you can turn off sharing with other users, you dont get none of that crap

Limewire? No crap? Are you shitting me? Limewire is riddled with more holes than swiss cheese, and allows more spyware and crap in than even the dodgiest porn sites I wouldn't have Limewire on any of my machines if you paid me
