hi people just bought myself the above named car had it about a week just looking for some feedback statistics comments etc.. basically want to know what it can do and how it stands up against other cars in terms of speed power etc.. cheers guys ......

 

170hp ish and 400 quid a year to tax
more of a cruiser than a sprinter really.

 

Had mine a year mate, had no probs with it. havnt really done a lot to it. ST220 induction kit, hasnt really made that much difference bar the sound, sounds really nice though. ive changed the discs and pads to mintex which has improved the breaking. as far as im aware the engines are not really that tuneable. one option is changing it to ST200 spec, easy way to get 200bhp, but sourcing the parts wont be cheap. 2007 spec rear lights and blackeye headlights are a popular change, and does improve the look of the car imo. overall im happy with mine, but 20mpg isnt to good, and Ł420 tax from 2010 is a bit of a pisstake. standard stats are 0-60 in 8.6 and 140 top end, so not fast.

 

ok cool cheers av just bought fox alloys for it there coming next week any tips on what to do about the exhaust cause just now its tottaly ntoched and hidden under the car basicly the car has never been changed from factory even down to still having a tow bar lol ... some of my mates have told me to get it chipped????????

 

As far as i know, no one makes an off the shelf exhaust, ive looked and cant find one. so your option is a stainless exhaust from somewhere like powerflow or the like, but they quoted me Ł400 for cat back with one backbox. as far as chipping, MSD in blackpool is probs your best bet, they dont have a chip listed for the mk3 but do list one for the st24 ( same engine ), and apparently will give it a 12bhp increase. get the towbar off it unless you need it.

I bought one of these after having an ST24, had the S for just over a yr then went back to another ST24. The Zetec S is not as sporty as the ST24 but is more comfortable, a more relaxed drive & has better brakes etc.

The ST24 does feel faster to 60 but probably the same top end.

 

according to fords figures, the 24 is 0.1 seconds quicker to 60, but the zetec-s does 2mph more top end.

 

Going by the way it feels I'd of thought the ST was faster than that.
The S must weigh more than the ST surley ??

 

i would have though so fella, its a big heavy car the zetec-s. that said, ive driven a 24, and compared to my car i couldnt really much difference. if you buy fast ford, the figures for both cars are listed in the ' how fast how much ? ' section near the back.
