im looking at getting a new generation ipod touch but heard there are problems with them and the new ipod nano in that they only charge off of a usb style connection (12 volts i think). whereas older ipods could charge off both the usb style and another one around 5 volts i think dont quote me though. most i pod docking station / speakers and chargers only run off the alternative style and cant charge like a usb so there have been all sorts of problems with compatability issues. does anyone know of a charger docking station with speakers that charges the new generation ipod touch i.e usb style i cant seem to find any that are under 200 quid which is way to steep for me

 

I charge mine from USB with no problem. Full charged it lasts about 24 hrs.

Never looked into mains charging.
