I've got one, here are the details:

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_173019

Stuff like thier own brand oils, wiper blades, oil filters, tools, ect are really cheap, well compared to what they normally charge.

They are good for somethings and really shit for others!

I bought a battery for my Skoda. Ł99.99 IIRC but I got it for Ł65 with the trade card

I bought a 150piece tool kit Ł149.99. I got it for Ł143.

I brought a McGuires Clay Bar kit for Ł23.99. I paid Ł23.99.

So it works very well on service bits, but shit on other stuff.

i got it because i do the service items for the vans, wiper blades and blubs and odds and sods like that so any discount is good enough for me

i get it back on expenses in any case and if i want to buy soemthing for myself i can do that for myself as well which is a bonus in my eyes

perks of the job and all that

you only get a discount on tools if they are halfords pro range (well some others do but very very small discount compaired to the pro range!)

any parts or service consumables are included as are things like hand cleaners etc and paint has recently been added (not long after i sent a snotty email to halfords head office asking why it was not included as it was body repair items that any other motor factor included in trade schemes so basically you are forcing me to shop else where! lol) any thing such as car cleaning and after market parts etc are not included so that is why you didnt get a discount on the clay bar!

and yes if you buy halfords own brand items the discount is alot better than on branded items, just goes to show the mark up they make on things like bulbs etc!

Not always, certain items are cheaper from other suppliers.

Stuff like oil doesnt go down much as there isnt much mark up on it (well as much as you'd think).

Polishes/stereos etc arent currently covered but it was being considered last i heard.

i was offered it as i was buying a load of stuff the other day, the guy said come in and we may be able to sort something out so i went in with a passport, work id, payslips and asked if i could have one as i do the fleet stuff for work and they said "yes, sure you can", took about 2 minutes and that was it

realistically al i will have to buy are builbs and wipers and screenwash but it's better than having to travel 7 miles to the nearest approved garage to get them done under the lease agreement when i can go in on the way home and get what i need

I got mine by showing my qualifications certificates.

Best discounts are to be had on service items, bulbs, wipers, stuff like that.

Tools are rarely more than 5%.

About 95% of my tools are Halfords Professional, all purchased with a trade card and I've always worked it out to be around 20% on tools

Can't comment on individual tools I'm afraid as usually buy a load and just compare the normal total with the discounted total!

Always been pretty chuffed tho!!
