Default Could you get a 1.6 cvh turbo engine.....

......through an emmissions test for a car manufactured in say 2000.

What would be required and could you still make decent ( circa 200bhp ) power?

IIRC the emissions test is on the age of the engine and not the car it is fitted to and you will need to take proof of what the engine is and it's age with you to the MOT station. But I stand to be corrected on that one.

Didn't some ask a similar question a few days ago ???

i think farmer giles has the ticket, im sure someone will come on here and clear this up but i think they go on engine age and type.

farmer giles is correct

the MOT station i took my car to said the complete oposite, but they were wrong

I got my CVH Westy ('98) done a few months ago. The guy just said, "I don't suppose you know how old the engine is, do you?"

"nope!"

It passed!

If he was that bothered he could have looked at the stamp on the block!
