Default leather in high milage saphs

how bad does it look

i went to look at a 2wd saph today for a mate, and it was one of these 18 previous keeper ones, with 75k on the clock

all 4 door cards were showing cardboard the back seat had a slash in it

and the passenger one was as worn as the drivers

it was like sitting in an old fat bastards armchair

the boy kept on saying its got leather interior constantly

i was like fukn hell mate youd of been better spending £200-on a decent set of velour............oh and no chassis legs

FUKN KEEP IT

ive just put a full leather trim in my car on friday. My car came from the factory with leather but when i bought the cossie it had cloth. It looks nice if its looked after but some people just dont give a fook. Mine has got a bit of wear on the drivers side bolster and thats about it. Will get this treated and get it lookin like new.

Prefer fabric every time, leather might feel posh but looks cheap once it starts to wear and completely ruins an interior

leather is easily fixable when it starts going cracked, get it to a trimmer who knows how to reconnolise, then it looks mint again

leather actually gets better with age if it gets looked after!(which in 90% of cossies dont happen!)

I agree there my friend. They have been abused since they were built. They are old cars that need looking after.if you look after the car it will look after you.

Got leather in my saph and still looks good for the age and 120k miles.

Ok theres a little bit of wear on the drivers seat as you'd expect for the mileage but nowhwere near as bad as some ive seen.

All depends how its been looked after.

The rear bench was nice until a certain somebody got in the back when she was wearing a belt with shit loads of stoopid metal bits on them and badly snagged the leather! I only had the car 2 days!

kitchen devil

if you reconnolise your bolster it will make a good used interior a mint interior, i could not drive shit or cracked leather recaro about knowing that about 75 quid would sort out the chair.

oh and a decent trimmer can re stuff your padding under your leather which sags over time or fat arses, i have had it done and the differance was amazing. i sold a car to a ford dealer who see's new cars all the time but he was impressed with the condition of my cosworth drivers seat and said it was perfect, which it wasn't when i got it, my mate the trimmer did the bizzo with the bolster and fook me it was a stunner

I always buy Sapphs with cloth in deliberately cos I just dont like the leather. It looks nice if looked after but I dont find it as comfy as the cloth trim for some reason.
