fao PF Plumbers!
Hi all
Am changing the taps in my kitchen, however there is no inline stop valves on the pipes. The cold is easy peasy, just switch off the main supply into the house. However the hot is a bit more difficult. I have tried twiddling a few valves by the hot water tank with no success. Is the only way to do it to switch the main supply off and run the hot tap until it drains the hot water tank (and presumeably the cold water tank in the loft)?
Or is there an easier way?
Thanks!
Rich

try the taps on the pipes at your cold water tank that feeds the hot. usually theyre gravity fed so once whats in the pipe drains your good to go. im a joiner though not a plumber.

Ok cheers, to be honest I am tempted to just get someone in to do it. Gonna be changing the worktops so I will have to get someone in to connect up the gas hob anyway, and its really a job that I can't be bothered to do!! Does anyone have any idea of how much roughly someone would charge to fit 3 lengths of worktop and fit a sink and hob?

to do that id charge about £120 ish. im guessing the worktops are laid out in a U formation with 2 cut joints? half a shift would have that done easily.
