my m8 has just had a police £30 fine for having a small numberplate on the front of his car.

on the paperwork, they have spelt his name wrong and got the colour of his car wrong.

Can he get out of paying ???

If they'd put down the fine as hanging (by mistake) do you think he would want to be able to get out of that?

Could contest it as you can with most fines - however once its been dragged out as it will be & then if he loses it will cost him far more than £30

Surely easier just to pay the £30 especially seeing as the plate is illegal

 

If they cant get basics facts correct like the colour then how can we be sure about the number plate ?

If you want to prove a point go for it, if not just accept your mate is a cock for having an incorrectly sized number plate and to take his £30 on the kisser

 

i tried to dodge a speeding charge because they had written 47 in a 50 instead of 47 in a 30. got no where as the offence code was correct .

 

does seem like hassle for saving £30.

when i got pulled for my plate (correct size, just well placed screws so it says a word) i just got a producer, no fine.

 

Know someone that got caught Speeding the summons said he was travelling South on a motorway, he was actually travelling North. It made no difference they said it was only an administration error.

 

I got done awhile ago, for no. plate and no seat belt, i was in my mrs 306, but one ticket they put 206 and the other had 205 on it, I got away with it.

 

Up to him, I would pay the 30 quid.
