the new focus rs
dont know whether i like it or not? its gonna run on a volvo chassis with 4wd and 300bhp as standard but they dont know whether to use a volvo 2.5 turbo engine or a tuned mondeo v6 engine. think they could do something with the body work and that rear spoiler mmm well. any way wot do u think?

I drove the standard Focus around Lochs in Scotland and it is SOOOOO well balanced, a 300bhp 4WD version will be AWESOME regardless of whether there is a Volvo badge on the engine somewhere or not, the ST will be EXCELLENT too!

i like the idea of bringing out a new RS just in white like the S1's! but those strips amd spoiler are a BIG no no. think they are aiming for the jap crap owners with those things!
viper stripes tho!

Yep, i heard from a reliable source (Suspension and Geometry Division of Ford Germany) that the new Focus RS will be 4x4 and probably use the Volvo engine. 
I've also heard that it is going to handle extreamly well

The Focus RS WILL happen as far as we know, I can only presume but the stripes are an optional extra on the ST150 Fiesta so no reason to think that the Focus RS won't be the same.
4x4 300bhp in the standard Focus trim would be AWESOME! I think the 220bhp Turbo'd ST will be fantastic too!
As for the Fiesta RS, email Ford telling them how much you want them to make it / that you would buy one, as far as I know it looks unlikely to be made BUT with a lot of public persuasion who knows!

Reminds me of a Citroen Xsara shape!
Remember, car body designers have an incredibly hard job as they cannot just make cars that look good now, they have to design a car that will look good in 3+ years when it is launched AND still look good after 7 years of production!
I know I couldn't tell you what Joe public will like in 10 years time!
I definitely think that the new Focus is a grower, and the RS will definitely happen just that it won't be called Cosworth or have anything to do with them

Well from what i've heard from a buddy who works for Fords essex main development building, They're currently still working on it and so far so good, But they don't know if they'll have enough money to put it in production. He's also told me they will be using a Volvo engine with 350bhp and will be a 3 Litre. 0-60 will be 4 seconds and Electronically limited to 155mph but can crack 183 if removed.
He said he'll get me some pics if he can take some under cover. He pretty much said what auto car had in the mag about the new focus rs' Spec is Reality at the moment but maybe not going to be released till 2008.
Cheers i'll get back to u with more info when i have it.

your mates talking bollox mate,,, sorry to tell ya that
cause there is no 3 litre volvo engine so how can it use one
the new focus IF made would have the volvo S60 running gear as thats 300bhp
reason i say this is that volvoARE gonna still testing there 3.2 n/a engine at the moment and then plan to relese a 3.0 turbo version but that is a 6 pot engine and not a 4/5 pot
but i cant see how volvo/folrd would use the engine in both models straight away
but then if where talking about over a year then maybe it could happen but not for a while

Neeeeeever gonna happen.. So Autosport got some pics (ages ago) of a funky looking focus.. apparently 4wd.. for all they know, it could have been Ford/Volvo testing the new volco 4x4 transmission but hiding it under a focus to throw people off.. considering the amount of speculation and serious lack of fact on the subject, i'd say it's all complete crap
(i've heard the 3.2 litre i6 rumour.....)

I can tell you for a fact there is a 3.OL TURBO INLINE 6 UNIT going into production later this year i work in the engine plant in South Wales and we are making them there currently making the 3.2 inline 6 n/a engine

If Ford make it, it won't look anything like that pic above, no doubt it'll be slightly different from the ST with different running gear, wheels and spoiler.. Just like the old ones

I have worked for Ford myself, installing new production lines, and you would be surprised how many cars they develop like this. The Fiesta RS was up and running in Cologne before you could buy the new basic Fiesta here, and i used to watch 5 or 6 Focus RS's leave the Saarlouis plant every morning at least 18 months before the launch of them over here.
I for one think that we will be seeing an RS in the near future, and it will be good

yes but thats not a engine thats available at the moment though
hence why i said what you just typed and that is there is NO 3.0 volvo turbo engine available at the moment
and when its in the volvo they wont relese it straight away oin a ford
infact it would prob be like the focus cabrio/C70 cabrio is
the C70 cabrio was relesed in march this year and the focus cabrio ( same car but new front end aswell as wanky seats
) aint even out yet but thre the same car
