why not get the stage1 cts box as the only difference is the diff so I'm told.
If you like the car then sort it plus what else can you get for the money that is as fast?
I've thought about breaking mine many times but can't do it cos it was my 1st rs, If I did break mine I would only end up with another but nowhere near the same spec.
plus me, you & Tim could prove that grey rsts are the fastest

Seems to be a common thought this mate. Just do what ive done, leave it at someone elses house for a few month and dont even think about it or even look at it. Come back with a fresh pair of eyes and you'll have the bug again. You saw how pissed off I was with mine but I came to it yesterday and cant wait to crack on with it. Just a shame I cant walk at the moment! A grand for a box is steep and yet more money thrown in the grey money pit but its like mine, you've put too much in it to be able to stop. Got to weigh it up, loose x amount of pounds trying to break it or sell it or spend 1k to have it back on form and trying to catch pesky white series 2's Personally I cant wait for the new year to get the car back on form. Just take a breather from it mate and faith will be restored. ( [vulture mode]oh, if you do break it let us know [/vulture mode] )

You honestly can't expect to spend a fortune to get 300bhp and then stick it though a couple of hundred quid gearbox surely....
Everything is on a sliding scale IMO. Uprate the the power loads then expect to uprate the box, suspension, brakes etc... If you spend £300 on tuning a standard engine then fair enough, a standard box or near standard should be ok...
I spent £1300 on a gearbox regardless of what my car is worth and am only running 14psi held...I spent that money because I didn't want to be underneath the car every month swaping yet another gearbox with the car off road. If you knew how much money I have in my S1 you would shit a brick...
