Default FAO Men and Hairy Women ;)

People have been asking what I want for xmas already. I don't really know. One of things I'm thinking of is a one of those posh electric Philishave's as I'm lazy and if I can save 2mins each day all the better

So does anyone use them and how do they compare to a Mach 3 wet shave?

Mrs got me a Philips yesterday £70 in Argos not sure if same as you mention?
Is great, got conditioner coming out of shaving heads.
For me I'd catch a mole on my chin, and struggle to get a few hairs on my neck, with the mach 3. Can sit and watch tv and use the philips, or in the shower; depends how happy you are with the mach 3, I was fed up catching my mole and bleeding for days
Is just about as close as wet shave if you spend bit of time at it, but this is comparing to you going against the growth with wet razor.

I've never found an electric shaver I like, my stubble is like desperate dan's and takes a good few swipes with a Mach 3 to shift.
I dont think you can beat a wet shave imho.

Me too
I have to shave everyday for work and usually end up with a quick elect shave (Phillishave), followed by a wet shave (mach 3) and still looks like I haven't shaved very well even though it feels quite smooth.

If I shave in a morning, by lunch/ early afternoon it looks like I haven't bothered
I am like homer Simpson when he shaves. All smooth then in the next scene his stubble is back

I'm considering offering my services so shaver companies can trial their shavers on me to see if they are any good.

electric shavers are really good if you have sensitive skin and thin hair as razors can cause alot of irritation, hence loads of spots etc
if you want a proper beard trimmer and even for thick beards, can only recomend wahl sterling 2 plus, £60 from a good hair product supplier but you might need to go over your beard twice to make sure its done properly. majority of barbers use this machine for a reason
if you wet shave, best one to use is the good old cut throat blade if you have the cuts!

I bought one a few years ago and it is better than any other electric shaver i've used before but i still prefer to we shave.
I use a wilkinson sword jobby and find its quicker/easier to get smooth if you use the right gel/foam
(my fave is asda's own non foaming smooth gel at the mo- great stuff imo)

I'm currently on the gillette series gel

and use gillette after-shave gel to moisten the skin afterwards. The gel is a great product and smells lovely without being girly.

yes but it goes closer if you use it properly
obviously you cant beat a wet shave but this is the closest youll get with an electic trimer.
also just to add, gels are better to use than foam as they are thicker and lift the hair off your face making it easier and more confortable to shave.
nivea sensitive gel rules! the gillette gel is too cold and doesnt lather as well as nivea

I just use a beard trimmer without the muzzle on...gives abotu .5mm stubble which I can handle...only shave like that 2 times a week as I'm a lazy fucker.

On the VERY rare occasion I wet shave I use a mach 3, i'm ok for about 10 hours then i've got a red face and a beard full of spots & irritation....

i spent AGES sorting out a decent shave system !

my end result is,,,,,,,,,,,,,, either nivea or l'oriel sensitive for the gel..... they are the best !!

and the shaver,,,,,,,, this aint taking the piss either,,,,,,, venus lady shave thingy, it cuts closer than a fusion and i dont get iriated skin with it like the mach3 turbo/fusion/.wilkison sword does to me

seriously lads try it and tell me how you got on !

Mach 3 Turbo on my head every time. Occasionally on my face too, but usually just my hair clippers without guard on does me.

I look about 12 when I shave properly
