Default T34 Escos @ wheels power figures..

What have you seen?

I'm mapping one on the rollers right now and it's making really good power, no dodgyness with the rollers either as its been tested in shootout mode.

This is the spec:

Newly built engine by myself..

7.4:1 comp (he wants more power in the future)
Siemens 3102's
BD14 In cam
Lightly ported head (read de-bured!)
Double valve springs
Long studded
MLS gasket
Big intercooler
Noisy 3" exhaust (very small o/d rear silencer)

Running 35psi peak boost tailing to 28 6k and 24

What would you expect to see at the wheels? (mapped on a rolling road )

All 3 doors are rwd, but not some reyland ones, with Martin you never can tell

Some of his escos's he's done are v8 and rwd, so YB and rwd would hardly pose him a challenge

But if it was not a standard type transmission Escos then I would have mentioned it

Anyhow at the moment it's making 339.5 @ the wheels

firstly, fuck me if someone says t34 escos you HAVE to presume 4x4 as they were built like that. To assume otherwise would be silly and i'm sure Martin would've said had it been different

anyway...sounds interesting as the spec is very similar to mine except im 7.2:1, and hold similar boost but on a .55 housing. oh and mine is greys.

I'd like to think mine was 380-400 bhp, say 320-340@wheels and 4x4 usually 20 or so behind so say 300-320@wheels?

How long will a T34 last when try to make power like that?

Surely it must be seriously overspeeding the limits that Garrett would recomend?

What effect does this have on life time?

Would a larger compressor not be more suitable?

very rarely you dont see a 34 over spooled tbh but seems alot of people are still scared of the reliability of a gt30 but imo a unstressed gt30 will still be more reliable than screaming the tits out of a t34

Agreed.

Ideal turbo for just over 400bhp IMHO is a GT3071 with a 63 back housing and a 4" surge ported front end, slightly smaller version of CossieRich's basically.

T34 has over advantage though, like not needing a dump valve and being cheaper to rebuild.

If use aggressively, it will be spitting exhaust blades every 3 months, as that is the exact pressure I ran mine at .

Back it off to a peak of 30psi, and it should be fine (albeit lower powered). Would be interesting to see by how much .

Dennis asked me to forward on his question, as he cannot reply right now because he is having a cup of tea with Henry Ford on the Moon. He would like to knw why so little power? He said their is another 150bhp in this Turbo.

On a serious note, didn't seem to take you long to pick up mapping, nice one.

He certainly seems to have got the hang of the flatout stuff now if its making that much power, thats the easy bit of mapping though, lol

Martin what ECU is it on?
