Default Fao it peeps

i know this should be in the computing section, but I want it to be seen, so I hope its ok if I put it here.

Basically I have XP Media Center Edition 2005, but now, media center has corrupted. If I click tv/tv guide or any of the hyperlink buttons on my mce keyboard, i get the message "unable to start media center". If I click media center in the start menu, it boots up, but the only options you get are "other programs" and the settings menu. I cannot watch tv, movies, record tv, listen to music or anything.
Is there any known fixes. I did a quick google and didnt really find out alot, so just wondering if any IT bods had the answer, other than reformatting. (Suppose I could try system restore but would like to avoid as I have only downloaded and installed nero 9 yesterday which took an absolute age being 2 gig!)

Cheers in advance

Nero is now 2 gig? what the hell

If you've not found an answer from a quick google, probably quicker to reinstall xpmce..

How did you break it? Mine is fine (albeit not 100% stable with regard to the EPG/recording service)..
