i'd rate my job at a 6.5

I run 2 warehouses - on my own all day in both stores, one forklift is a gas 10T rated capable the other is an oooold (it was made in '73 ) electric lancing bagnal ! basicly, if i were to have an accident at work in the morning, i would be stuck until around 4pm when the company drivers turn up to pick up the goods out. The nicest bit about it is, is that according to the HSE peoples because i am the one putting the stuff in the warehouse, if a 700kg pallet lands on my head... it's my own fault, hence the company isn't considered liable ! how pleasant is that !

The biggest hazard where i work is actually other people - people that don't work in warehouses / on forklifts dont understand that standing behind the truck in the drivers blind spot is a fuckin stupid idea. I've made people sit in their cars / cabs or whatever purely because of their own fuckin stupidity before ! Stopping a 10t capable forklift with a fuck off great big load on the front isn't as simple as some people think it is !

i showed one bloke a demonstration one day, got a pallet of knackered pallet wrap from the quaranteen section ( the pallet tips the scales a 1.3t ) and proceeded to drive into the rest of the quaranteen'd stuff - the forks went straight through two rolls of pallet wrap.. then i explained to him that had he been standing in front of it and the forks had hit him, he'd be a big bloody mess on the floor - dead.

rant over.

I am a Petroleum Operator in the Army, so can be sat in helmand province with around 2 million litres of diesel and avtur at any occasion in the bulk fuel instalation that we build to provide the task force with motion lotion. so with the heat of the day making the fuel more volatile and the risk of mortars and good ol american misfires it could be a bit of a disaster i think so i would give it a 10. plus hot fuelling an an apache gunship fully loaded and ready for action can be a bit hairy when the pilot looks at you with his eye peie down and the 30mm cannon folows hisevery move, hands up yes sir of course i filled it too the brim lol

Mine isnt that dangerous either. The worst think that could happen is that a van could roll of a ramp and squash me.
