Default So entered the car park sideways and almost died for that matter...

Hey guys

I was driving up to Hertfordshire (in the snow) to get to uni (started my 2nd Degree yey!) and was driving my Clio 182. Got to the traffic lights to take a right into the Park and Ride, Lightly accelerated from the lights and the next thing i know i'm sideways going into the Car Park. Luckily i didn't hit anything as we all know that any kind of hit in a clio will most proberbly put you in a Box.

Now i was thinking that i've owned a Fiesta ST, Escort Cosworth, Focus RS and the 182. My fiesta felt more gripped to the tarmac even in snow and my Escort was fully planted regardless of the conditions. That sucker was holding on good. My Focus was sold after 6 months as it was to twitchy for me and crap to drive in WET. The 182 is a fucking death trap. I've owned it for a year and in wet conditions its crap, In snow, well lets just say you better choose your coffin before you set out in one of them.

I thought it may have been to the way i was bringing in the power but obviously not. I wasnt even doing 20 before i went side way. I've spoken to a couple of the Cliosport members and they've had similar problems.

So now i'm thinking of getting rid of the little bugger and getting another Cossie. I've decided to stick to 4wd and was hoping that the New Focus RS would have had the 4wd treatment. I think i'm going to stay away from front wheel drive cars from now on.

All the cars you mention are famous for being excellent handling cars!

sounds the problem could be the driver not the cars!

Never had any problems with the Fords. The Focus RS was just to twitchy for my liking but that said, it didn't give me any major issues with the way it drove.

The 182 is my first Non-Ford car and it's being gay!!!

....so you feared for your life at LESS than 20 miles an hour, doing a little slide on some snow when in actual fact what probably happened is you pulled into the car park going a little too quickly and lifted off the accelerator when you realised this & the back end came round easily due to it SNOWING - lift off oversteer - nothing new!!

Check your rear tyre pressures if you are brave enough to ever enter a car park/garage forecourt again after tonights terrifying ordeal!!!

Maybe i should of mentioned that i could have been hit by a car exiting the car park lol

I'm just gonna get rid of it and build my dream Escort Cosworth. I couldn't fund the last one properly as i was paying rent and bills while being at uni so now i'm back home i'll be able to pay attention to it.
