Do you need a birth certificate(of the person who passed away) to obtain a death certificate?

we are finding it hard to get issued with a death cert
we got a interim one at the moment

Care to elaborate? my uncle just passed away so my nan(her brother) and my parents are trying to sort this out

my brother just died, and as they couldnt find a cause of death, they havent issued a cert!

Well my uncle was in hospital at the time, so its abit different then

my mom died in hospital of canser and i had to go to the coreners office for them to do one for my

a doctor can prenouse someone dead, but only a corrinor can issue a certificate!
