Stunning, not much grunt lowdown but when it gets above 5-6k it pulles like a train . There loads to get used to, the gesrbox has 11 settings, there are setting for the dampers, diff etc.

With the wife driving to school in 400bhp mode she get 10mpg but with me in 500BHP mode i can get 22MPG driving briskley ??

I want to love it but i think I just prefer the looks of the old school e39.....bit more sleeper
I so want to like this car as I fancy an upgrade (for the hell of it) but feel like I need to look elsewhere right now. Not sure what though...some great prices around too these days

Enjoy it mate. Lucky wife.....

I know but in my opinion they just don't suit the M5.

Seems the style nowadays to stick M6 wheels on anything and everything. Seen them on plenty of 5 series BMWs (E60) and E90 3 series mostly saloons. Every seen them on an E46.

They don't suit anything apart from the 6 series imo. I like the original M5 alloys but hey, it's not as if they look crap the M6 rims!

Not 100% sure but i think they are not M6 wheels (looks the same as), they are a option on the M5

You are probably right there mate as the M5 has 19s? or 20s?

I'm pretty sure I've seen this style of wheel on a 3 series about 17".

No ! still reading the book, but is says you can only do it once then you have to drive x miles before you can do it again

Did 174 last night though, it then started loosing power like think the limiter was kicking in.

Need to find out how to remeove it and also put the TV on while you drive ?? for my daughter on the school run.

my understanding was that delimiting invalidates warranty - which seems like shit to me. Let us know how you get on

Ain't nowhere in UK you will ever reach those speeds realistically and safely so not worth delimiting it imo.

£44K mate, the car was £70K new and just only 11 months old, but is a very hi specked car Full DVD pack, TV, comfort pack, those wheels etc
and being a 2007 car it has a few tweaks on the pre 2007 car.

I did see the early high mile cars and even some at BMW dealers and they would have 1 years warrenty on them.

To give you some idea of the prices, the car was £48k a few weeks ago !
I was looking at a black 06 car in B-ham for £40,800 and that was down from £44 and now its at £39.800.

Lot of car for the money

These will be an absolute bargin in a few years, looking at E39 M5 prices now ... I am very tempted once prices start getting to a sensible level. Nice car mate, enjoy ..

They don't do a manual in the new shape do they?

No, but its not a auto as such, it a 7 speed gearbox with a electric/ hydro clutch. you can have it drive mode with 5 settings for how quick you want the change and sequential mode with 6 settings in this mode with the m button pressed it is awesome I call this "full fat mode"
