10K+ Poster!!
I also found my fiesta rs turbo handled terribly, dont know if it just seemed that bad due to changing from a coilover'd clio 16v though.
The wee t2 turbo of the fiesta runs out of steam far far too early, the t3 is a much better option!

I reckon both the s1 and s2 rs turbo's look better than a frst.

can you really compare cars? frst small car and newer in aspects of management, erst older and older management..... they will both handle different.
my question to ford is..... why fit MFI to s2 escort when they could of put the cossie managment on the s2? always wanted to know why...... then the s2 would be a better car

depends what you are calling handles well.
My escort is shocking handling but its still on its original suspension at the moment.
They are old cars with worn parts now days so it all needs overhauling.
They both torque steer and the both front wheel slide round bends so id say they are both as bad handling as each other.

I loved my FRS, but then when I got my S1, I loved it even more. Really down to personal taste for looks and the handling can be sorted on either.
loved is so much I bought another lol

I do prefer the look of the escorts but the fezzas still look cool. I wouldnt mind one but i prefer my Si coz they had a revised chassis, just need a bigger engine lol

I think I prefered my series 2 to drive and to look at. I went from an E plate series 2 to a J plate Fiesta turbo. What I noted was how much better the fiesta recaros were and it didnt sound as thrashy as the series 2 up the rev range. But to this day I still prefered my series 2.
Anyone on here got J722VVX? white fiesta turbo

I think looks wise the S1 and S2 are mcuh better looking than the frst.
I think the frst is a good relaible car but no where near as much fun or special to own as the erst
get a erst and frst management and you get the best of both worlds imo

My standard mk3 1.6s handled like a boat.
I'm faily certain these used the same running gear/suspension/arb setup as the XR2is. Dunno if the FRST was different still?
My standard mk4 escort handles really well for what it is. (base model running gear, 1300). I was quite impressed when compared to other similar aged vehicles I've owned in the past.
Given the choice I'd go for an escort over a fiesta mk3 but not necessarily over a mk1 or 2. Imo the mk3 is the weakest of the fiesta line in terms of driving experience.

like for like (standard) the fiesta handles a little better than the escort, but the escort is a much better looking car...especially a series 1.
