Default Escort S1 ECU / S2 ECU

Does anyone know what the difference is between a S1 ECU and a S2 ECU???? and will a S1 chip work in a S2 ECU????

Any help much appreciated

series 1 ecu's don't run the knock sensor like series 2.

I don't think the chips will work in each other....

S1 ECU is a blue red blue ECU with no knock sensor
S2 ECUs are blue red white ECU with no knock sensor
...................blue red black with knock sensor
...................hearts hash diamonds with knock sensor

when i had my S1 years ago i try'd an S2 chipped ecu in it and it worked fine

Ive got a Chip that came out of a S1 and wanted to know if i can put in into a S2 ECU

Or is it gonna F**K things up???

put the s1 ecu in your s2, i wouldve if i could of got one! s1 ecu is the best apparantly!!

Jay-Cosworth No you can't swap chips from different generation of ecu

It would be better to swap the whole ecu

when i had my s2 3 year ago i found out l8r that it had a s1 ecu in it
it worked fine ,

by the way i still have the car now

dave isnt there a diffrence with the s1 s2

with the s1 you could run high boost and blow it up easy

but the s2 would try cut out if you run high boost without a chip etc

Both S1 and S2 ecu have a boost limit as standard set at about 8 psi
To run more boost you would have to chip both S1 and S2.
