Most of you seem to be critising this guy for storing it.

The thing is, do any of you know if there is a valid reason why he's not driving it anymore?

I agree that its a shame its being stored, but TBH if you owned a car worth +Ł50K that you wouldn't be able to fix that easily..... would you drive it a lot..??? I doubt it.

The problem is all the other d!ckheads on the road that could damage it.

Interesting thread,

If people didnt store these cars and did as you all believe is right - and drove them all the time - then they really WOULD fall to pieces and no longer be totally original. Add to that the very high chance some knobber not looking what he's doing might drive into it and I can understand why its not used. I do agree that if the chap who owns it is a "Car guy" as he's done rallying in the past and is obviously "minted" as per the thread plus the fact he's got between 50 and 150grand sat in his garage depending on what it actually is then perhaps a proper clean and a carcoon would be the best thing, but who knows what his circumstances are or reasons for storing it like that.

I have seen a LOT worse over on some of the american websites I belong to with barns full of extremely valuable and rare classic yanks rusty to death because of the poor quality metal they were made from. Recent one had over 650 cars DESTROYED at a former Chevrolet dealers turned into scrap metal, including GTO's, Superbees, Vettes, Camaros and the like - now THATS proper galling !!! Not some dust and catprints !!!

Oh and can you tell who it is yet???

Dammit - beaten to it !!!

its unbelivable that some people have enough money to buy a car like that and simply forget about it and have no desire to get rid!

i hope it makes its way back onto the road oneday where it should be!

If i owned that, theres no way i could leave it sat up for years, it would have to be driven!

Its only really dust on it, apparantly its mint inside...

Also the guy who owns it knows exactly what it is, he just doesn't use it.

who is it in my avatar ?????

i cried myself to sleep last night at the thought of people looking at a car that was designed to be rallied and used in the harsh world of motorsport with a poxy layer of dust and a competition seat on the roof as a catastrophe.

I am amazed people think a plastic RS200 will fucking fall to bits

i wish more people had the balls to do what they want with their car with out somebody saying they don't deserve it etc
looking at the drivers seat which clearly has a racing harness fitted shows it has probably done some motorsport work or trackdays and that is more like what it was made for.

if you really want to know about who it is in my avatar would you please click this link and watch "Mr Rallycross" in his Evo Rs200.
his other Rs200 Evo is being driven by another Norwegian Tommy Rustad.

this is what RS200'S are about not worrying about fookin dust

TBH i dont see the problem with this.

The guy will deffinetly know what he has. He will probably also know that even with all the dust over it its still worth a small fortune.

When i went to view my most recent car it was the same, 6yrs in storage, covered in dust etc. The guy did however know what it was and the value of it. He also knew that it could sit there another 10yrs and all it would need is a good wash to bring it back up like new. It was started and run up to temp for 20mins every month to keep the fluids circulating and its been fine.

As for the seat on the roof well i wish thats all my 3 door had on its roof

Very Nice car and Good on the owner for keeping such a classic car in one peace!

One good clean and a service and the cars alive again. That could sit there for 20years and still be a Minter!

A bit of dust on a car thats not been moved wont even hurt it. Paint work i bet is mint under that shet of dust. whats more, He owns something thats rear as anything and i bet he knows it! Dont forget! keeping something like this inside a garage under a sheat or even coverd in dust will always keep vaule! as its a true classic and something someone will want in 20years! or more..
