Default Fuels Pumps?

Mine is very noisy on my Series 2, but it seems to work fine. I'll be replacing it in the near future, but was just wondering if they had any real bearing on performance? ALso is i worth getting an uprated one? or is a new ford one dead on?

Can I quote you on that to any prospective buyers? I got an old 3i that sounds like Jim Carreys sat under the back seat making the most annoying noise in the world
