BMW Low Oil Pressure???
My old man's E60 520i 2.2 litre 24V straight 6 engine.
I wasn't with him at the time but he just told me he'd been driving the car, parked up and when he went to start it again, the computer threw up a big warning that the oil pressure was too low and he should not drive. Anyway, he turned the ignition off, sat for a few minutes and tried again, got no warning. Drove off got no warning and has been fine since.
The car had its oil change two weeks or so ago using Mobil 1 SuperSyn 0W-40 which is BMW LL01 approved. Bit worrying...I've just taken it round the block, seems OK if not a little juddery...
I will wait till it cools down sufficiently to check the oil and check for any leaks. Is there anything else I should do...not the nicest thing my dad has come home to tell me and the engine has only done 36,000 miles.

Yeah, waited about 2 hours to go check it. Spot on max. Phoned up my mate who is our mechanic, reckons the sensor might have had an off day. Certainly doesn't drive or sound any different than normal to be honest. Dad drove it tonight and was fine.
