He was on the radio this morning and it sounded like someone had swallowed a 'cockney wideboy' dictionary.

Fair play if he's genuine, was pretty funny listening to him rant and say 'listen' or 'shut up' before everythihg he said. I was waiting for Vernon Kay to say "No mate, you shut the fuck up" but he didnt.

sometimes it seems as tho hes 'adding a bit in' for good effect.

but on the whole thats how he is, and the way he always has been, the same style and character across all his films and interviews.

i guess its a Marmite scenario - you either love him or hate him, just take him the way he is really.

 

i'd say he was a twat who's been stereotyped intoone particular role that he can't escape for love nor money, but someone will only say i'm talking shit so i'll just say he's acted like a twat in all his films, so perhaps some of it's rubbed off on him in real life

he's one of them actors who just play themselves imo, mike reid aka frank butcher,steve mcfadden aka phil mitchell theres too many of them who just open their gob and it comes out normal, proper actors do differant,harry enfield is a boring git in interviews but is a cracking actor,he changes character completely

 

hes alright in the films, yeh most birds love him but when its himself he seems to still be the character of his last film he was in

 

i think there is a world of difference between mike ried (rip) who played a wide jewish boy in a film, steve macfadden playing phil mitchell for eleventy million years in east enders and danny dyer always playing a cockney wide boy in 55 different films

perhaps he finds it eaiset to just do the accent?

in the same way that the skinny one from pirates of the caribean started off doing lots of different stuf and is now shoehorned into posh totty doing period drama's, don't like her either, she was so wooden she could have been part of the ship
