Rudey, the exchange rate for USA at the minute is. $1.85 to the pound. When i was there in Spetember(california) they had thiese houses for sale in Palm Springs for $450000, you wanna see the bastards. You could have started your own firms taking tours round it lol.. Best part was $1600 repayment on mortgage and interest.

Just the mortgage..under £40k now..but only had the house for under 3yrs so far. Neighbours sold theirs last yr for double what we bought ours for!! Don't know wot it's worth. Agree with ballin..don't buy it unless you can afford it..altho if I wasn't AS sensible, I'd have got a cossie by now on a loan. Lol. Keeping 2 RS's and a commuting car is enough.until 1 goes...

its all about equity really , and its not the credit companies fault that you cant control your finances, they dont send the money to your house , you actually have to request it wether it be by loan or by card,
i feel sorry for the people who owe shit loads , i mean like in the 10k bracket and upwards and have negative equity, i.e the goods you own are not to the value of what you owe,
the people who are in the property market are in the best position really, but i must admit , i was just lucky really, didnt know feck all about the house markets etc , just bought a couple of propertys over a few years , so now not out of my depth, the way i like to see it is, if your owing will be covered by your equity and some in reseerve then your not doing to bad !! just dont keep spending!!! we have equity of over 100k so to me thats just fine !!

Managed 2 clock about 13k on cards from being off work and stupidly getting a cossie but my parents took out a loan 2 cover it all so i owe them the money now!!!
Anoying but hopefully will break even soon, gotta sell my 306 still which i should get 4500 odd for, and im still wating for a payout from my car accident 2yrs 7months ago pushing for at least 1yrs loss of earnings and recently had and offer for 7500 which i told em 2 shove so getting there slowly

Lets face it most ppl are in debt nowadays its jus normal. We have become obsessed with house prices in this country fuk me its only somewere to live!. When most of us retire (dont wanna upset anyone but it mite be when wer 70 or 75!!), and have payed our houses off, if were still alive we'll have good equity but may very well be short of cash.Thats if youve got any money left at all if uv put ur kid/kids through university.Oh and dont forget there may be no state pension at all depending on again how much equity or savings ull have.If you become infirm and need to go in a home then youre house will be sold to pay for this. Also even if you do leave your house to ur kids then theres the inheritance tax to think of.
Some of the older generation seem quite well off, but fuck me arent they boring?!! I would rather have a good time now than have a massive mortgage and kids and have no social life. Life is for living NOW! the whole save for a pension and enjoy your life when your retired menatality of the previous generation doesnt count for s**t now, there will be nothing for most of us to live on when (if?) we retire, so lets just enjoy life while we can eh?.
Sorry folks rant over.
