Was a Bernie Stage 2 with the Quaife ATB diff, was before the the plus version was availible.

Was a BC5 which originally had RS1800 gears but was later changed to standard because I was doing three gearchanges to 60 and 5 in the quarter mile

Despite me telling Performance Ford many times it never had Quaife gears yet the feature said it did, the same way the spec on the time table says 'cams' yet they where standard aswell

If Performance Ford read this please can I have the pics from the shoot of my Fiesta, I asked Ben and Keith at the time but didn't get them, I pm'd Dave Moore but never even got a reply. I know it was a long time ago but I've always wanted them

ps I have a stage 2 box for sale at the moment exact same spec with standard gears and Quaife diff done less then 500 miles for £700

No idea what Bernie rates them at.. I had about 270/280bhp max so maybe upto 300bhp would be ok. I never had any probs with the Bernie box I had what so ever.

Im afraid te stright cut Quaife gear kit for these boxes was intended for
N/A powered cars.
Its rated limit is 150hp which is listed by Quaife

Its the big unknown so you wont get answer..

Its going to be a try it out and see.

I reckon the 6speed box or perhaps a mtx focus rs box which is in MINT condition iternally would handle that power, for how long who knows.

Theres people who have run 500hp through a stage 2+ box which lasts a while key to it all is having a good strong well built box.

Unles your building this as a pure drag strip/topspeed car 600-700 hp is wasted for anything else. Id budget a good 25k+ to achieve that kind of figure.

If your wanting to go 4x4 route then thats a differnt matter, evo rs running gear is the way to do it but again thats going to cost you bet part of around 5k in transmission.

basicly im building around the turbo i have (turbotechnics gtk650) going to be using alot of the pumaspeed 600bhp capible stuff. it will probably be near'r the 500bhp mark than the 700bhp as im not a total lunatic! haha

will have to see how it goes fwd for now then think of other driverterrains if all fails

haha what a cock no need to be bitter over nothin.. ive had one other project with was a track day fiesta which i shouldnt have started in the first place as the base car was my runabout i got carried away with..

i already had this mk5 to tend to so i got rid of the fez and bought a cab to simply runabout in which ive not touched apart from escos rims!

If you want to build a 700bhp FWD car, go for it! It wont be easy, but if it was we would all do it!

Take it from somebody who knows (like luke) it aint going to be cheap, despite being handy yourself with a spanner!

Just a thought on the fwd gearbox issue, what does the mgzr fwd drag car use?

Sure that thing has way over 600bhp?

is 600 bhp in a front wheel drive mk 5 escort just not a complete waste of time and money.

Hate to jump on the bandwagon but youre going to spend as much as buying an escos anyway.

you can get a fixer upper for under 10K

a cosworth engine struggles at 700hp so surely youre going to have trouble.

id love to try the torque steer out when its done though lmao

Fair enough - tis a shame though, your old one was awesome. I think it still holds the FWD acceleration record for an RST.

if you dont have enough money to buy a cheapish escos then you dont have anywhere near enough to build a fwd escort with 500+bhp. engine, turbo, management, gearbox and everything else, all thats got to cost well over 10k to build and i mean well over
