We've just had a new computer system installed at work, and it's windows 2000. Trouble is the administrator has locked it so you can't install any programs on it!!!! They have given us access to the net though, so they are not all bad. Is there any way round the administrator password, or a cunning dirty underhand way of finding it out with a sneaky program or something!!??
Cheers, Kev.

Cheers spiky!!
Bit more difficult then...... Is there one that will actually tell you what the administrator password is, because if the administrator actually wants to get on it and I've changed or reset the password......... He may well give me a right big chinese burn!!!!! And they are to be avoided!!

sorry mate, just re-read your post about it being at your work
its usally end users that have administrator accounts with blank passwords, and cant see someone in a company doing this.
chances are, the above dont work either if its part of a novell or equivalent network frame.

If the administrator is any good he would have set your system password with a high level of security using upper\ lowercase and numeric characters. Which is highly likely if he’s bothered to restrict your access. I’m afraid unless you know it or want to potentially shag the system by hacking it im afraid you are stuck.

How big is your place of work?? If it's quite big then just change the admin password.. They won't give you credit for being intelligent enough to hack it if they do realise and will just re-ghost your PC if they need access..
Just play dumb and say something popped up asking for the admin password so you typed in xxxxx.

It's the Army, Phil!!!! It's their new DII, army wide intranet plus some special people get internet access!!
However they seem to deem it necessary to block sites like hotmail etc!!
And lock it so you can't put any programs on it!!
