Ok i'm trying to settle an argument with a bell end at work.

He's got a 2005 megane 225 that he paid £10k for.

he's boasting its the best car for the money. i said its not!

so he said ok what can you get for £10k that has the following:-
Brembo's
Climate control
automatic wipers with sensativty
automatic lights
keyless entry/start-stop button
half leather
EBD
225bhp
light weight wheels
Eibach springs and shocks
5 Star N-cap Rating

Can something kindly tell this tart what better cars you can get for £10k?

 

can you not get an evo for that money?

focus RS must be on par with that.

 

A Peugeot 406 V6 Coupe comes close. They are only around £1700 as well!

 

You can get a Jag XKR for that, 370 bhp 4.0 Supercharged V8, Brembos, adaptive suspension, Radar cruise, 20 in wheels etc etc. Plus its not French and would eat that piece of tat for breakfast!

 

If he's after a hot hatch he can get a Leon Cupra R with almost identical spec from 6.5k

 

Its all opinions mate. Whats 'better' in my eyes will be completely different to whats 'better' in someone elses.

A 1.0 micra is 'better' than a cossie for the old granny down the road.

Focus st 8.5k now.... Focus rs start from about the same. though some dreamers still think 40/50/06k ones are worth 12.5+ lol. Evo 8 for that money. Subaru sti wrx uk etc.

 

for 10k my money certainly wouldnt go on a french car thats not to say the 225's are bad though

 

My mate has a 225, very nice cars i must say!

There are plenty of cars with similar perfromance as it like the above, Also things like VRS, Leon Cupra R etc etc

My friends husband is a Sales Manager and has gotten her two ex demonstator Renault Megane's at rock bottom prices, one actually had 350 miles on the clock! Since she has had the car the windows always fail, set of vice grips was holding one up. They also seem to suffer from a lot of electrical faults, such as the keyless ignition packing in, not once but twice on her!

£10,000 for a car, what about a 2007 Mazda RX8 still under dealer warranty for £7900? Does it not come with air con, brembos, leather, rwd and 18" wheels as std?
