I bought a cd player from them back in March for £280 and today its just stopped working. Checked all the cables an fuses but its just dead. I still have the box bu no receipt - I did pay with my card so i will have it on my statement.
If i take it back can i get another cd player in return??

They should help you, but they may send it back for repair.

You should be able to.
I bought some Infinity mids & tweeters from there a few years ago & one of the mids stopped working after around a year & they exchanged it for me without a receipt.

should still have yrs warrenty mate but if you got proof then dont see y not plus u got box

Alright buddy, used to work for Halfords, if you don't have the receipt ask the store you bought the headunit from nicely and they may be able to look up on their system and print it off again for you. Although, Halford's are currently undergoing an IT system/till change so if you bought the cd player before the store was converted...if it has been, then they probably won't be able to go back over the records and print it off for you. But worth a try anyway!
After first month then cd player has to get sent off for repair.

halfords have always been helpful when ive been in there . had a sub in a box that just died and they changed that after a bit of butt kissing

they dont have to give you a replacement at all,but as it nder warranty it goes for repair.but do ask nicely for a copy of the reciept from you giving them the date.

i work in a car accessory shop so know the score.although halfords may just decide to give you a new one its up to them.we dont

I dont know about audio stuff but i've been in a few times with halfords pro tools that have broken (normally the older type locking extension bars or torx bits), i havent got a receipt for them but 9 times out of 10 they change them, i had one arsehole one day that wouldnt so i went back a few hours later and someone else did!

with the protools they should be exchanging them without a receipt if they are broken surely? As they have lifetime guarentee?
