Default stian hafsengens old escos(1/18th replica few more pics)

does anybody know what colour blue it used to be please,im making a 1/18 ut models wrc escos into a lookalike so need to know the colour to see if i can get it mixed at work,if i cant get it mixed what would be the next closest colour

just found a mag with a feature of the car in it and its pre crash and the colour they say is bright atlantic blue pearl,does anybody have any idea what manufacturer that colour might be from please

heres the model im going to do,ive already swapped to these wheels and rally car interior from another model ive got

going to take a while to do it but should look good when its done

ive just got myself a big turbo engine and they are soo mucg better deffo worth doing and going the whole way with the rep ! you can get minichamp 3doors or ebay with big turbo engine in

ive got 2 minichamps 3 doors but dont want to take any more apart really,the only reason i did this 1 was because ive got another of the 2 models i swapped the bits between,if i can find just an engine then that would be good

The easiest way to go is to make a replica of how it looks today mate. Then you al ready have it. Just get a gatebil sticker in the window, red mud flaps and remove one of the bonnet vents.

model should look good jonesy when done you make sure you get pics up when done!

had given a thought of doing a rep of that escort also but then again have so many ideas foating about lol but in end stuck with doing rep of martins reyland escos.

dont have any spare engines left either i used them all for various models,but like jim said you may have to stip another model to get one

yeh will def get a few pictures up once its done im just having a bit of trouble finding the colour code to see if i can get it mixed up at work

The closest I found when a mate of mine wanted to repaint his Escort Cab in that colour was MG Trophy Blue with pearl coating. Flips in different lighting.

Stian's car had a colour called "Aquarius Bahama Blue" if that's any use to anyone? The 3dr Cossie at Gatebil is painted the same

i noticed the mg trophy blue was close cheers,i might use that colour if i cant get a closer colour

No idea mate, that's all I remember.

But as for the car, it apparently been sold on from Leif Nilsen (Gatebill head man) and is currently in the hands of....I quote from a Gatebil fan..."some snot nose kid who can't drive and just brakes it all the time, so doesn't live up to its reputation anymore..."

managed to finf the bahama blue at work and have some mixed up ready for when i want the shell painting,i also found the atlantic blue pearl but couldnt get it mixed up at work as we dont have any of the colours needed to mix the paint
