just save the stuff on the D drive mate, much easier

unless the c drive is the basic boot up bit like most new computers i've seen have, just there to help aid recovery of the system should it go tits up

i'm sure you can move partitions and copy stuff over, but youwold need a proper computer type person to make sure eveything was right or it'll fuck shit up in a big way

Right-click on 'My Documents' and move it to D: in the options.

That way you have all your personal stuff, MP3s etc.. on D: and all your software on C: thus balancing it out a bit better.
It also gives you a better 'failsafe' as C: is far more likely to be corrupted or suffer hardware failures than D: due to the frequency of use.

if your not offait with computers i wouldnt really attempt making changes to the partition.

if you want to attempt it you could try partition magic as thats a basic prog, however there are alot better products that do the same..

It doesn't make any difference based on amount of usage - it's still on the same drive!

If the HDD dies, BOTH partitions will die with it!

If you want a proper failsafe, get two HDDs. One as drive C and another HDD as drive D. And a decent backup software.

Doh!
I'm so used to running multiple drives I completely missed this obvious fact.

Anyway, moving 'My Docs' will still help the problem, if not affording you any more safety.

There is a free utility called GParted you can use. Burn the ISO image to a CD, reboot and then you can manipulate the logical drives so you have one massive C partition. Its also non data destructive so you won't lose anything.

Partition Magic does the same job, but its not free.
