Default Inheritance money to be spent on a Ferrari?

I might spend some of my inheritance on a Ferrari 355.

It will take a rather large chunk out of it but I have always wanted a Ferrari as a kid. I hired out a 348ts when I was 25..... fantastic car and an x girlfriend of mine used to have a 328.

A few of my mates say to put my money into property but im happy in my 3 bed house..... its not the biggest or fantasic inside but I like it and working in the building trade, well, I deal with houses all day everyday!

Any opions....should I, maybe's, should I not??

Here is a link of one I like........

you'd be better off looking for a 360 pal, the 348/355 servicing is a right arse ache, engine out job for basic servicing.....

360's are similar money now.....

for the money I would go for a 360 every time. Much newer car, cheaper to run by a lot. Do it, with a "cash" buy you will get a stonking deal if you push your luck, not a lot selling at the moment.

Fuck buying a stupid car - put it into bricks and mortar. OK, the market is a bit unstable at the moment but when it settles prices only rise and thats your pension fund. Cars only go down.

Last place to put your money is in a silly car. Plenty of time for that later in life.

You only live once and as long as it's properly insured etc then what's the worst that could happen? So it may cost you a few k during ownership.. who cares! If you can do it, go for it. I wanted a 348 when I sold my 1st house but never did it, always kick myself for not doing it when I had the chance.

How much are you getting? If its like half of the total I def wouldn't, but if you still have enough left to buy another house for investment I would. Now or at least soon is time to buy with houses!

911 turbo will do 100,000 miles, used as a every day car, goes like fook, and will hold its money, the ferrari will do most of them, bar the 100,000 miles and used as a everyday car

spend Ł3k hiring one for a month to get itout of your system

then keep the money doing something it shoudl be doing, pay the mortgage off or buy a shitty house to do up now the prices are tumbling and rent it out, when the prices go back up again you'll be able to afford a proper rari

then again, it's your money now, we can only offer advice on who's pocket it goes into

Go for it mate, you wont regret it, if its the 355 your going for get used to the mr2 comments, also not the best of sellers and defo not the quickest but very cool imo.
Must have all the paper work in tact, i.e servicing, history etc.

P.S mines still forsale

View it like this mate, you aren't spending 50k, you are simply storing it in a car rather than a bank or house.

BUY ONE, haggle hard, get it as cheap as possible, ensure you have done your homework on them (ie don't buy one due a service!!)

Then have fun, look after it and in a year or so when you have had enought, sell it, you wont lose to much on it and you will have done it.

Then you can do something a little more sensible.

A bit scary, but remember, your not giving it away, you can always sell it

Think about another house/house project or something to make money from that can put you on a different track in life....

Then buy a ferrari with your profits in a year or so!

I would have to make some cheeky investments in rental properties while the market is down in the next year, then your new tenants can pay for your Ferraris as your properties pay for themselves over and over. But get the Ferrari after more bargain property

Why is everyone telling him to invest/save it??

He said in his first post hes only spending SOME of the money on a ferrari!!

If you want to buy one, buy one. Where talking about 50k here and hes got some left over he can save for the kids or what ever!!

Worst case in a few years he can sell it and still get a good lump sum of hard cash for the kids or whatever.

Sure if you had major debts then get your priorities right but this isnt the case.

fuck it you only live once might as well enjoy it.
