Had a look at your HDR images on flickr and the one inside the chapel is a gem! When you are taking the HDR images, do you increase the exposure 1 stop either side of std?

i need to learn about this stuff too, what it all means etc... ive only been playing about with the D60 this afternoon, mainly in auto

I think those shots in the church were 10 exposures (-4 -3 -2 -1 0 +1 +2 +3 +4 +5), probably overkill if im honest as i was still learning HDR's. The pots and pans one was with 3 exposures. It's not just a case of have one stop either side of a regular exposure, you have to capture the complete dynamic range of the scene in however many shots you take and adjust the exposure to capture this. If that makes sense!
My personal fav HDR i've done is this:
but it's nothing compared to some of hte stuff i've see non flickR.

i did take it in speed priority!, but i did bracket alot, and also shot in auto on the same shot, i dont really like the auto image

No, i never tend to like the auto shots either, they tend to be very 'safe'.
I'd say you definately had the shutter speed too fast then, could try taking a shot and then drop it a little then take another shot and repeat, take more shots to get more keepers etc
Try setting it to aperture priority, no need for bracketing, try about f8-f11 and see what thats like. Might be worth a google search for 'histogram' that will help when out there taking pics to check the exposure etc.

Two pics taken in auto mode on the day i got the D60, all settings in auto, as taken and tweaked in flickr
and a couple of my practice shots with the camera in manual, taken yesterday, as they were taken and tweaked via flickr
